If Ferland isn’t coming back , which I doubt, then I hope he ends up in Winnipeg my second most favourite team (sorry it’s the Winnipeg in me). I think Winnipeg actually has the best chance of getting him and resigning him

Maybe given the history with the Flames it could be worked out as a sign and trade. Probably not I guess, given the options he'll have in free agency, but you never know. He is at least familiar enough with the Flames to know whether or not they're a team he would want to sign with long term.

pretty interesting analysis by Pinder and Steinberg, talking about Carolina... but also touch on Ferland's value...
https://www.sportsnet.ca/960/pinder-...ovable-pieces/
they mention that Calgary should be looking at him, but again the issue is what Carolina would want back, especially from Calgary due to the way the trade currently looks...Trading a first + would only happen if they know they can resign Ferly

If Ferland isn't coming back, I want him out east.

Canes would want a first so no thanks. If the Canucks are in the hunt for a wildcard spot come deadline I can see him going there. Benning will trade that 1st pick for him.

No, Flames are already lacking in forward prospects, you can't trade your best. But if you do, it better be for a long term asset.
The best prospect I see being moved is Mangiapane and only because Flames have Dube, Philips, and Pettersen in the pipeline who are a similar type of player.
I could see guys like Ruzicka and Joly being moved, but I doubt you'd get much for them.

I'd be fine paying something like a 2nd and Mangiapane, but realistically that doesn't get it done.
Plus the optics for the Hurricanes turning Lindholm and Hanifin for Hamilton, a B prospect, Fox and a 2nd doesn't look good on Carolina

What they’ll want and what they’ll get are not the same thing, and I can’t see the Canucks (in their current state of development) going all in this year by ditching a mid-round 1st for 27 year old middle six guy.
Not saying they won’t go after him, just saying if you think it’s a 1st or bust, the Canucks are likely out.

According to LeBrun the ask is a 1st and a prospect.
Could see a team line the Pens going for that, I love Ferland but that's a bit rich for my blood

Can't imagine Ferland landing in the top 6... or Neal moving to the 4th line.

Peters could mix around lines 2 & 3 as he sees fit.

Neal for Ferkland and then sign him to a 4-4.5 Mil deal. But if he wants more then I'd stay away.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Ferland
Bennett - Jankowski - Neal
Frolik - Ryan - Hathaway

I don't mind Ferland but I think the asking price will be to high. I hope we stay away unless he comes cheap.

Yeah, someone's gonna pay for Ferland and it's gonna be steep. Hope it's not Calgary.
Still think Mojo is a great sneaky option.

Yeah too much. I might part with a first. Could be a late round and we have loads of young talent I’m not too concerned there just yet.
But can’t think of a prospect I’d move that would make it worth it.

As much as i like Ferly Neal or Frolik would have to be going back so Tre could sign him. Nice to see him as a hot commodity outside of CP.

I don’t think the intention would be to sign him unless he would take a cheaper deal. Which he shouldn’t. He should get paid.
