Jordan Brown, 22 striker. Former West Ham youth player, spent a couple years in Germany and most recently a few months in the Czech league. Played U17 for England so at one point he was a pretty good prospect. Also started off in the Arsenal youth system so he's gotta be good

Brown played in Europa League with West Ham too. Think he's the first CPL signing with that level of experience.

Would argue Cavalry's forward line is looking good with their first two signings.

This would make sense, as I've heard his cousin (Charlie) will be coming back to play in his off-season. Believe it'll be setup as a loan from his current club.

Definitely not a PDL level signing, that’s for sure.

Will be interesting to see if he can reach some of his potential. If so, could be a standout player in the early days of the league.

Ugh, West Ham and Arsenal? I guess I already bought my tickets, so hopefully the stink has been washed off!

That's interesting, I know Charlie was at the launch, and I've met him at Foothills games. Think he's signed for another 18 months at Inverness, but he's becoming a depth piece there.

Also, here's an interview with Jordan Brown from a few years ago: https://englishplayersabroad.com/201...with-hannover/

That would make sense as to why then, both from Charlie's standpoint and his current clubs'.

Season ticket update. According to their Facebook page, over 1100 tickets have been sold to 425 members.

Default The Canadian Premier League thread

How does that rank with other clubs? It seems a little lower than I had expected/hoped, but still a solid base.

Edit: I just saw their Twitter message, and it implies that they have only called 425 people so far. So 1100 from 425 actually sounds a lot better.

I misunderstood the graphic as saying that they had contacted ALL members, and 425 bought 1100 tickets.

Halifax has 3000 season tickets sold as of a few weeks ago.

I expect Hamilton to be tops, followed by Winnipeg.

My understanding is that they called all members, they were able to get a hold of 425 of them, and out of those 425 they sold 1100 season tickets. Not a huge number, but also not bad given the uproar online over ticket prices. As for other clubs, Halifax announced they were over 3000 season tickets sold a few weeks ago. I believe Edmonton is around 1300 season tickets. Not sure of any other figures.

Also, the supporters section is completely sold out. Hope those who want the atmosphere buy in section 201.

They called me the first Friday (#200 something) but I couldn't take the call and asked they call me back on Monday. They never called back.

If my memory serves, 1100 is about what the old USL teams averaged, so having a base of that much is pretty good, all things considered. Especially with the pricing and location drawbacks.

My understanding is they are going through the full list once and attempting to contact them. If you don't pick up, they will call you back on the second attempt. If you can't talk, they will call you back on the second attempt. If you say no, they won't haggle you.

I was able to call them back after I missed their call and they accommodated me just fine.

I'm sure they would if I called them back but I asked them to call me.

I hope this works, it will be nice to have an affordable sports option in South Calgary. But god this whole thing reeks of a ticking time bomb.

I guess my point was just that if a new organization that's likely swamped and appears to be trying their best had one call back slip through by accident maybe just call them if you're interested.
