I love the Trash Taste podcasts. They talk a lot about weeb culture and anime, but they also talk quite a lot about other stuff. There's a lot of fascinating info on all the work involved in making youtube a livelihood, and the challenges that come along with it.

It's interesting to see so much variation in the channels watched with very little crossover between posters. I mean, I haven't even heard of 99% of the channels posted. It shows how fractured the viewing landscape is these days.

I read a stat that there's over 20 thousand channels now that have 1+ million subscribers. There's just so much content on youtube these days. And then you add in all the twitch streams, the discords, podcasts, etc. There's just so much media out there vying for your viewing interest. It's no wonder traditional cable service is dying a slow death these days.

And the challenges of living in Japan which I found fascinating. How to eat a pizza argument was the best.

Not a whole lot. I follow a couple of RV accounts, that showcase different RVs and give out a lot of info on different rigs, tow vehicles, add ons, etc. I follow a couple of full time RV families, one that has a small Overlander type set up. Then I have some real estate channels that I follow, 1 international, 1 Canada based, 1 US based, the rest BC focused.

RV accounts (rigs etc):

I don't subscribe to either of these guys' channels but I do wander over and watch their stuff now and again -

I found that too, but I've started subscribing because it helps the creators. I'll even like and comment on my favourite subs. It's a simple thing that takes me 0.2 seconds but helps them a lot.

Anyone watch Wintergatan? I've been watching his build videos religiously for years. Seriously, I usually watch a new video within a couple hours of it being posted.

channel link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcX...6_WqjkEniejRJQ

He's building a marble machine to play music. You may remember a viral video from years ago that did a similar thing with a much less impressive machine. The new machine is fantastic. If you're into it, you can go all the way back and watch the machine come together from the beginning.
