I served my mission in Oaxaca, Mexico. Served a while down the coast, so I have been told by a few friends already of the tsunami warnings down in Central America. Praying that they'll be alright.
Honestly, what the heck is happening to the world right now?

Climate Change.

the planet's had enough of us and is shaking us off like a case of fleas.
Sure seems that way. I feel very fortunate to live in Calgary and not near the coast. Feels fairly safe here.
I hope everyone stays safe and the tsunami isn't too destructive. What is this part of the coast like? Is it mountainous and less populated? I hope so.

I arrived in Christchurch the night of the 7.8 earthquake back in November and had to flee my area on foot with no phone signal or internet connection when the tsunami warning was on. It was surreal and frightening. Sucks to be in. Sure there are a lot of frightened people in Mexico right now. I hope it works out well for them.

My wife was a baby at the time of the 1985 earthquake and was retrieved from rubble from a collapsed building at the time in Mexico City. Today is the 33 year anniversary of that quake. Needless to say that this earthquake and the one from a week ago gave her parents who are still living there crazy flashbacks. My wife's mom texted her to say she was driving when the earthquake hit. This one's a pretty bad one, in a more populated area. Earthquakes are no joke and it's one of those things I never hope to live through.
Perhaps it is just that the internet has made my cynical, but that looks far more like a controlled demolition and far less like earthquake damage. Especially since the guy who posted it says he has no idea who actually shot that.

I get your line of thinking but all the glass is still in the building and the vehicles are rocking in the foreground. My feeling is it is legit
