Gillies - there is zero reason to keep Rittich up, he didn’t earn it.

Andersson

Valimaki

Prout

One of Andersson/Valimaki gets sent down on the 7th.

People voting for Rittich...why? Is it contract related? Gillies seemed to have the better pre-season

Rittich, Andersson, and Prout.

I think it's either Andersson or Valimaki, with the ELC slide being enough of a reason to send Juuso down.

Keep Gillies, Kulak and Prout. Waive Rittich and send him down alongside Valimaki and Andersson.

not the sexy picks, but there's no harm in giving your top D prospects some more time to develop. Did they play well in preseason? Yes. Did they force Trelivings hand in terms of spots on the opening night roster? Don't think so. Let them be the top pairing in Stockton and give them some looks later in the season. Prout can be the toughness #7 who eats popcorn for 60 games. Gillies has shown more than Rittich (who'd easily clear waivers).

My thoughts on Kulak are that he and Stone make the 3rd pairing a pretty visible disaster.

Keeping Kulak over Prout as the 7th could work, but going into the regular season I think Kulak/Stone are a bad enough pairing that they could lose us games.

Rittich (Gillies doesn't have to clear waivers and wasn't that much better than him, plus Rittich is a bit calmer out there and wouldn't benefit as much from more time in the minors)

Andersson (Valimaki needs more seasoning and to play top pairing minutes, but eventually was a higher ceiling if his development is managed properly)

Prout (provides more physical presence than Kulak and is the perfect benchwarmer; Kulak is the very definition of a tweeter defenceman, but will be given one last chance to go down to the minors and light it up there)

Welcome to your vote, but I don't think the sample size makes either goalie the right or wrong pick.

Gillies 126 minutes .889
Rittich 158 minutes .872

Don't think Gillies Boston game is included.

I don't see any one winning or losing this battle. Tie goes to the one way contract and waivers in my mind.

so they've waived Kulak. Prout probably is the #7, so who gets the final spot? Andersson or Valimaki? Or both (keep 8 D)?

If Andersson played the left side he's have a job today in my mind. But from reports this week I think even the player himself wavered on converting to the left side in the interview.

Valimaki should start in the AHL, and I think Andersson can't sit in the press box behind Stone so I cut them both.

Torn on this one. I had really thought Andersson but the handedness thing has me reconsidering. I think it’s possible both Andersson and Valimaki start in Stockton.

I am fairly confident they keep Rittich to start the season.

I really like what I see in Valimaki and I think it’s time .....I think he barely beats out Rasmus.

I hope it's Valimaki they're going with because I don't see Andersson as ready. Valimaki probably isn't ready either but he has a stronger skill set than Andersson so his inexperience will be covered by his skill.

Exactly where I ended up. Assuming Kulak goes down, maybe Valimaki has made it.

And I honestly think that will happen

A) before Xmas with Andersson lighting up the AHL.
B) at the deadline with the Flames healthy
C) a the draft

Exactly. Andersson deserves to be on the team, but the right side is loaded. Valimaki needs only supplant Kulak.

I voted on who I would like, not who I think will stay (I want to see Andersson and Gillies, but think it will be Prout and Rittich)
