All the reviews I’ve seen so far for Into the Spiderverse indicate it is so good it should win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. I hope this brings on the animated superhero feature renaissance. We should have had one after Mask of the Phantasm but it didn’t perform well in theatres.
DC already makes the best animated movies so hopefully they sink som money into a couple bigger budget feature films.
I heard they are making Lego Batman sequel, it seems that they are content to do one animated film released in theatres a year and a bunch of straight to video ones. Their last one that was straight to video Death of Superman was fantastic and worth a watch.
Enh. That second Captain Marvel trailer was reeeeally underwhelming (and part of why i typically don't watch trailers: the're deceiving, spoilery, often not representative of the final product, and mean FA)
That first teaser was mind-blowing, though. i'm building excitement on that alone.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the Lego movies but I'd prefer something else from WB. They've kind of milked the Lego jokes and now have to rely on good stories. Ninjago was pretty blah and the quality has been decreasing since the first Lego movie.

That Avengers trailer was amazing, I need this movie like yesterday! Endgame what a great title as well, I have a feeling tho this could be the last time we see Evans as Cap and Downey as Iron Man.
One bit of good DC news, Aquaman is on track for a $85Mill opening weekend in China and projections have it making $200Mill in it's run there. $900mill world wide is looking possible now.
Is the President of Disney the Phantom of the Opera or something?
There seems to be this pervasive and ongoing theme about broken masks. Someone should just make a Disney montage of characters staring at their broken masks.

The Little Mermaid staring down at her broken "human" mask, with her fish head, while behind her, her human husband looks on, aghast, holding the hand of their son, who is in the process of taking off his "human" mask, showing us the half fish person underneath. Roll the title sequence for a prequel to a recent Oscar winning film.

Any guesses on the kind of money this makes? Infinity War is the current record holder for Marvel movies by over 500m, being the only superhero movie to pass 2 billion worldwide. After it ended on such a dark cliffhanger I can only imagine the debut is going to shatter all records, and assuming it's as good as IW I could see it passing IW and The Force Awakens to sit #3 of all time. Maybe even #2 if it has long enough legs to get another 100m to pass Titanic

I'm generally apathetic about box-office records, but my guess is that the sky is the limit for this one.
This is the culmination of 10 years of work and the most unprecedented degree of story-telling and world-building in cinematic history. Its the end of the road for a number of actors who have dedicated a decade of their careers and lives to a project.
I feel comfortable saying that this isnt a movie, its a Cinematic Event.

My 13 year old daughter is so into this. Texted me from school the second the trailer dropped. It's really interesting. The appeal is equal amongst boys and girls from what I can tell. Pretty cool cuz I'm into these too.
What they're not interested in/talking about? Star Wars.
