Default ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries

Has anyone been watching the documentaries on ESPN (and TSN) looking back at 30 sports stories from the past 30 years? Each one is done by a big name director or personality.

I've seen just two - "Kings Ransom", about the (in)famous Gretzky trade, and "Small Potatoes - Who Killed the USFL?"

Both were outstanding in their coverage and depth. In the weeks and months to come, there will be one on Terry Fox (directed by Steve Nash), Andres Escobar, and soooo many others. A list is here:

I highly recommend the series - look it up in your PVR on when TSN is airing them.

"without bias" was a good show...that's a pretty sad story. 30 for 30 is a good idea.

The Kings Ransom was quite interesting for someone who was only 3 when the trade went down.

I really liked the USFL one, but I think the best of the bunch was muhammad and larry recounting Ali v. Holmes where Holmes waxed Ali. Many believe the fight should have never happened and may have been a major contributing factor to Ali's current state.

Kings Ransom was fantastic. As someone who followed Gretzky as a kid, and that trade being the start of my fandom, it was interesting to hear of some of the details. I've heard bits and pieces here and there, from his book, to "Above And Beyond"... but I was still surprised with some of the details in this doc. Really well done.

For those who watched the USFL doc by Mike Tollin, you'll enjoy this. Tollin sent a copy of the doc to Donald Trump, along with a nice letter thanking him for his participation.

Trump didn't even bother to do a new letter with his response:

That letter is dated September 15, 2000.

I noticed the date as well - probably a typo.

edit: Maybe that's why Donald says "You are a loser".
