Default [PGT] Loss…Preds 4 - 2 Flames

Discuss.

Personally not that worried about the loss, contributes to selling. Flames were thoroughly outplayed and Nashville looks fast. Would put a flier on them making playoffs.

Fasten your seatbelts for the next 15 games. Could be a good month for team blow it up.

Didn’t like that call, but maybe they can’t review a missed penalty call, so only thing to overturn would be if Nashville had touched the puck next instead of the Flames. Only caught the end of the second period onward, looked like they were playing well from that point and could have been a different game if the gloved puck was called differently.

- Markstrom looked good. A couple of absolutely great saves.
- That Sharangovich goal was awesome, I'm starting to come around on that trade. If only we could get the guy to cheat a bit more so he can get more breakaways.
- The Kadri line looked pretty good in the first. I liked the chances they generated.
- We lost the special teams battle
- NSH looked like the better team
- PP hurts this team every single game
- Props to both Gilbert and Z for coming to the defense of their teammates.
- It was shaping up like a pretty good game, but then it became a bit of a snooze fest.
- Hubrdeau also looked good out there, despite the PP giveaway that lead to the shorty. I thought he was engaged making plays, throwing hits, and got stopped by Soros on a great chance.

They played hard and I appreciate that from the team. Start of the season they were making me sick but now I can watch them.

They will be lucky to go .500 over the stretch coming up. Should at least minimize the possibility of management doing anything stupid.

Nashville will come up short in the playoff race as they always do.

Not a very good team overall, but some nice D and a top tier goalie. We just didn't give it our best today, outside of the first period which was pretty good.

Zary sparked this team from his first game, so it's no surprise to me that they fizzled out offensively in the first game he was not participating in.

If he's not good to go on the weekend, I really think they should get Matt Coronato in here. The PP needs something, anything.

My expectations were non-existent after the first 3 weeks of the season, so every point collected and fun, competitive game is just gravy to me. Was hoping for more of the former, too bad. Can't happen every night.

At least the Oilers' slow-motion trainwreck season is going strong to console us, and console it does.

It doesn't really matter...Hanafin is the only one they should consider signing

honestly if they go .500 over this stretch they might be a playoff team

Too sloppy and slow on the PP. Crappy zone entries and tried WAY too often to force a pass that wasn't there. On the other hand, when they DID have options they stumbled around and didn't take 'em.

NSH looks fast and decent, but the Flames did a pretty good job of tying them up most of the game. But playing decent D doesn't win games without scoring.

Oh yah: consolation prize: The Wreck of the Edmonton Oilers (apologies to Gordie)

one reason I get so pissed at those missed calls...game is either a win or a loss no matter the score but the goalie wears the goals against

Flames chasing the whole game. Markstrom played great. PP is an abomination. Was hoping Savard would add more to that element. Shake it off, onto the next game.

Power play really needs to move it up a few notches. You can’t constantly throw away advantages like this.

Weird game. Lots of posts. Nice to see this team still remembers how to hit the last few games.

Play of the game was definitely Weegar chucking his stick.

Sell the UFAs and keep rolling.

Meanwhile the Oilers and their completely undisciplined players somehow enjoy late PPs in every game they find themselves down late in.

If only the Flames could garner the same sympathetic treatment as Evander Kane and co

it actually wasn't a bad play...a 2 on 0 cross ice pass is far more likely to go in than the penalty shot (28%) and it was a bad shooter so probably lower
