Allow me to direct you to Vital Partners. Mrs. Shandro would be happy to explain how this can all work.

Personally, I'm fiscally offended that we built a Cancer Centre. If people get cancer, it's because God wants them to have cancer. Who are we to interfere with his master plan?

No Smith said it was their own fault if someone got cancer. In fact we should smoke more to reduce the chances of cancer

It works to get hornets out, so the logic seems sound to me.

So it's $16 a bottle, shelf price at stores for $7-8, presumably stores will take a 20% profit margin, so 5.50-6.50 is the money back to the government per bottle. This is costing $47.5 to $52.5, ignoring all the program costs to manage it. Also presuming people actually buy Turkish branded stuff over the name brand or no name stuff that is now in stock and they can sell all of it. What fantastic fiscal management. Add it to the waste pile.

Marketers call it a loss leader, you know, to get their foot in the door so they can sell other products to other provinces and pharmacies at a profit.
Maybe I'll start calling Danielle the Loss Leader.

The UCP are the only ones capable of preventing the NDP from throwing tax dollars away on boneheaded decisions. What choice do people have???

Can someone remind me how much the lightbulb thing ended up costing, because I'm pretty sure it was less than $100m and it actually benefitted Canadians (some in Ontario, some in AB) instead of Turks.

Why would I use that stuff when I can get it now from the normal supply chain? It's mostly back in stock, and I'm not spending money on non english labelled stuff when my customers can also purchase the normal stuff
This was the concern I voiced at the time

Exactly. The acute shortage is mostly over, and even if they didn't have the name brand stuff on the shelf, I'd go for compounded before the Turkish supply.
It's just going to linger on shelves, we won't find a buyer for the 4M bottles we want to sell, and eventually it will be written off. $80M down the drain.

So...about 2/3rds of a war room....1/4 of the cost we've spent stockpiling turkish tylenol, or 0.01% of a Keystone XL bet.

Yeah like healthcare, education, or god forbid, the poors. Can't have that. That's a slippery slope. Before we know it the government might even start treating woman and gays like they're people, then before you know it we're all communist or cannibals or something
