Edmonton's Stollery Children's Hospital is experiencing a large and sustained surge of seriously ill patients, Alberta Health Services said Tuesday.

Dr. Carina Majaesic, medical director at the Stollery, said the hospital has declared an emergency provision that allows it to move staff around to redeploy to the areas of greatest need.

Majaesic didn't say how many physicians are being redeployed.

The hospital's pediatric intensive care unit is currently at 100 per cent capacity and is bracing for a further increase.

The only way we're getting any kind of action on this from the current government is if a child close enough to Danielle Smith dies. That's just how conservatives operate, it's not an issue until it affects them directly

I’m not sure how he “took the bait.” Fuzz’s post was clearly a comment about Smith, not about vaccines or vaccines in relation to the Children’s Hospital crisis.

Well a lack of flu vaccination, Covid vaccination, and the politics decision to not even strongly recommend masking everywhere and especially schools at multiple press conferences and to give schools permission to mandate masking when they reach certain infection parameters all lead to making today worse then it needed to be.

So seems fair.
