Former FAN960 morning man Mike Richards diagnosed with rectal cancer
Announcement here:
http://www.tsn.ca/video/mike-richard...ncement~698884
He was a good part of our mornings and Flames discussion for six+ years. Hoping for nothing but the best for Mike. Great that he's launching a foundation around this.

Mike was still on the Fan when I lived there. Wish him the best with his battle.

Man that's just terrible news. I'm a huge Richards fan and wish him all the best in fighting this disease.

Very sad news. Best wishes to him.
The good news is it is very treatable if caught early. I was diagnosed in February with the same. It is a terrible experience but it can be beat. If it hasn't passed through his colon wall yet his overall survival rate (5 years post diagnosis) should be about 75% at a minimum with proper treatment.
Guys, if you notice blood in your stool get to the doctor ASAP.

all the best to mike
as guzzy said it is very treatable if caught early. my mom was diagnosed with colon cancer back in the mid 90s
they had to remove a bunch of stuff and she now has a colostomy, but she's been cancer free for almost 20 years!

He did draw the attention of the Calgary listener with his bits. They were the key to his show and due to them he was so poular. Some people weren't a fan of the fan960 with him on it, but I was.
