That's three in a row and four RG's in total for Iga.

Zverev tosses in two double faults and Charlie breaks to start the final.
Edit: Then Zverev breaks right back.

Carlitos breaks again to take the opening set 6-3. Looking very good thus far today.

Charlie, what are you doing?!? Serving for set 3 at 5-3 and you proceed to lose three straight games.

It's not looking too good for him right now. He was just telling the umpire it's not a clay court it's a hard court out there

Zverev still has plenty of mental scar tissue from losing that US Open final a few years ago to Thiem. He needs to continue to mix things up and change pace/spin, still plenty of tennis to be played today (hopefully).

Not even close on the Hawk-Eye review...Stop your bitching, Zverev.
Edit: Followed up by a beauty Rafa banana forehand passing shot down the line for the break.

We're going five as Charlie sends a breadstick over to Zverev.

Zverev misses two sitter volleys, throws in a double fault, and sends a routine backhand five feet long. You hate to see it, I mean you love to see it.

Fun fact in Nadal 14 titles at the French Open he never once had to go 5 sets..... just total domination

I do like the poetry of Zverev starting with Nadal and falling to Alcaraz at the end, like a sad Olympic torchbearer between two giants.

Not sure when Chokerev will get a better look at a major. Pretty easy draw (yes that includes the ghost of Rafa), peaked for this tournament, facing a beat up Carlos. He’s heading towards the tail of his prime years while the Sincaraz hegemony is just beginning. Maybe there is a bit of justice in sports sometimes after all.
