Really wasn't. Sharks broadcasters were praising him all night. Break down the goals and you have

Dman wide open in the high slot with a great shot
All the time on the world for Kane tap in
A perfect tip in
A triple deflection off Pavelski->Hamonic->Kane
A partial breakaway, enough to pick a cornet.

He also made a plethora of excellent saves.

Just a bad team that doesn't know how to backcheck or cover the points. The former probably due to coaching emphasis amd the latter due to a lack of foot speed at forward.

Didn’t watch the game. Thanks for the insight on Gaudreau blowing a couple of defensive assignments. Really haven’t found myself watching many games lately and these types of observations I find to be very informative.

He is a young player and maybe a different coach helps him build his 200 foot game.

Time and space for the opposition. The Sharks did not win so much as the Flames gifted it to them

I find the stats first narrative on 2 fronts disappointing
- coming in to this game, 400 shots for and 275 against in the last 10, and outscired by 16. Advanced stats, take a seat. Gully’s Flames prove that there is more to the practical results than shots implying possession which implies edge in play.
- sv%. Garbage shots from the outside pad stats. Jones profits. Johnny flying by Kane gifts him a goal. Rittich has stats watchers starting to say tsk, tsk

.848? Yeah, good enough behind what he had to work with behind this team. Not an NHL level effort. An embarrassment.

I don’t know where to put this but AC could easily make a video that shows a team with a lack of focus.

I forget the exact games but recent examples include
- Backlund going for a skate in OT, leaving his man alone for the winner
- Gillies coughing up the puck behind the net for Malkin
- Dougie letting his check skate to the front of the net unopposed, that was Evander Kane I’m sure
- Brodie coughing it up in the neutral zone and running in to a guy leading to an easy 2 on 1
- Johnny flying by Kane tonight leaving him ridiculously alone

- intersperse shots of Gul looking at the monitor on the floor

- mix in shots of the 5 on 3s

You could find garbage plays in over half of the losses where the Flames gifted goals at critical times to the opponents
