The thing with Brouwer on the PP is that he actually has a history of being pretty effective on the PP before coming to Calgary.
The problem has actually been that in the past he's been more effective in that triggerman role that Monahan occupies on the first unit.
The biggest fail was that the coaching staff seemingly had no idea of the role he was effective in on the PP in the past and kept trying to put him on the half wall on the first unit, when he probably should have been the trigger man on the second unit that actually lacks a pure shooter.

Yes, please risk further injury to one of our top players by having him play (and be ineffective) in a bunch of meaningless games at the end of the year.

He's been dealing with a lot of wrist/hip & back injuries. Hopefully they can get him fixed up so he doesn't have to deal with being broken down come Feb/March.

With the way the Flames' season has gone, Brouwer will probably suffer a freak injury preventing his buyout. There is no reason he should be playing another game for the Flames, and certainly not on the freaking powerplay.
