Well the conditional 3rd is better than nothing providing it's attainable but I think the Flames should have received more back for helping the Oilers get rid of that contract.
but the oilers also helped the flames get rid of neal's contract... marginal gains in this trade but it does suck that lucic's contract is worse
Just stopping on road trip so maybe it’s been answered for sure but If he didn’t waive his NMC and has to be protected in the expansion draft than this trade is garbage
He beats people up and his lack of fights is because people are scared of him, not because he isn't willing.
Tkachuk and Bennett were just given a "hall pass". I'd love to see Bennett centre Tkachuk and Lucic.
Plus I am forever in debt with gratitude to any member of the 2011 Bruins. I have no problem with Lucic or Marchand. Players you love to hate.
If Lucic puts up 30 points and is a physical presence and adds an inch or two to every player on this roster, he still brings more value than Neal putting up 20 goals and 45 points.
Lucic brought zero value to Edmonton as a physical presence.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

He’s not been the player you just described.
I doubt he physically can be.
I don’t question his desire.

I was at HF and no fans are bringing this up as something he brought to the table or something they will miss. Most of them are giddy right now and went from wanting Holland fired (there is an actual thread there) to extending him ha ha ha. It has to be a pretty happy day for them and I give Holland credit as I never thought he could unload that deal.

Because the words "declining" were used which is typically used to describe trends. Or do you never look past 1 year?
all good. I just don't see why you would use 3 years because Lucics first Oilers season obviously skews the numbers in his favour. I'm not defending Eriksson, his contract is also bad ... but his output has been relatively stable while Lucic has completely fallen off a cliff. Pick your poison, I guess.

29 million dollar signing and he got 19 points, and was healthy scratched in the playoffs because his lack of backchecking in overtime lost us the game... traded after one year for a contract unanimously considered to be amongst the worst in the league
I think the answer to both questions is yes

with looch posting his jersey on twitter..doubt he's getting flipped.
Little chance he's getting flipped as the Canucks are probably the only team interested and as I said before Ericksson while a better player than Lucic doesn't bring anything to the table that the Flames already don't have and Lucic at least can be an enforcer.

Yea, but those are Oiler fans. Are you really taking advice and opinion from Oiler fans?
