If it is, you can always try and get into the parkade bike rooms, they are great and same price as the new lock up.
$100.00 a year, hardly pricey for a coded bunker with frosted window and a couch

That is why I asked. I rent a spot in the bike room in the parkade and I'm not sure why they need that new bike room. I haven't checked out the new space but from the pictures and Richie's description it sounded like the same space.
I’m going to keep going to my current bike lockup room unless major changes are made to the new facility. Given the parkade has several bike rooms already I’m not sure how they justified a new one on the ground floor.

I haven't actually checked out the new bike room. Like you said, I don't understand why they need a new one anyways because the one in the parkade seems to have more than enough space as I've only ever seen half of those wall racks being used.
In your write up you mentioned having to go through 4 doors and the lobby but the email sent out mentions an access door from the courtyard. Is there no direct access from outside?

I did not see any doors from outside into the room. One had to enter through a set of double doors then the entrance door. So that’s 3. My bike room has been maybe 50-60% full at peak but that’s only about a years worth, during WFH-mania time.
I’m in for both. Registered for the shorter versions, thought I might be able to change to the long later if I wanted, but maybe not. Having said that, I don’t find my fun level increases proportionally as an event gets longer….3-4 hours is great, at hours 5+ of hard riding I’m starting to question my love of bikes.
Also I haven’t even done any sort of a real gravel ride, so I’m not really sure what I’m getting into. What’s a quick-ish pace off road? On the roadie I’m usually in the 30-35km/h average, how much slower is gravel riding?

For the Ghost you'll still be around 27-30, the Rustler I think you'll be fine around 26 or so. You'll have just under 700 meters of elevation vs the long version is closer to 1600. A five hour time gets you top 20 in the Range at around 25km/hr. Both would be a blast if it rained

Today I visited the boys at the bike shop south and ordered some new hoops for my mtn bike.
After looking at some options I went with a set of race face turbine r with vault hubs. The hubs seemed crazy smooth with a ton of engagement and the straight pull spokes look sweet
Can’t wait to install these bad boys in a couple of weeks

Went for a 50km ride on mostly clear pathways today -- was 13C and I took my road bike with skinny tires... what a treat to get out road biking in the middle of February!

I built a couple sets of 29er wheels with Vault hubs. There are a really nice hub. I think you'll like them.

my current rear hub is a swiss dt350 and the my front hub is no name. these vaults looks pretty beefy and based on what i have seen on youtube make a sweet sound - although apparently not as loud as i9's
towards the end of last season i replaced the wheelset on my gravel rig. i was breaking spokes on rear rims for both bikes and my LBS suggested that once that starts happening, it is time to look at either replacing the current rim or replacing them
i decided that i would get ahead of any potential supply chain issues and get this sorted out sooner rather than later - turns out the bike shop had the rear wheel in stock
