For all the hype before he picked a team and the excitement of beating out the Oilers, he sure wasn't much.

That's that all that matters for us as far as Foo is concerned.

Cool! If anyone hasn't heard it, listen to Brandon Yip's interview on Spittin Chiclets from a few weeks ago. He's a Chinese Canadian and is the captain of the Kunlan Red Star

I used to work with a guy who is very close with Spencer and his family. Apparently his family is very disappointed that Foo even signed with the Flames.

I would assume the Flames Qualify him if he’s going over there? He doesn’t take up one of the 50 contract spots. No risk at all.

He'll get paid 1-way NHL money to play there and will only be 28 when the contract ends... the only downside is giving up his Canadian citizenship to play for China in the olympics

I can’t speak for Reggie, but I’m wondering how they think Foo is going to make $900,000 playing hockey next year.

Oh, I'm sorry. May be I answer the question wrong? I thought when he said explain, he meant representing China in Olympic? And I didn't see the $900,000 part.

Fair enough. His father is from Guyana so the connection is somewhat distant.

You didn’t answer it wrong. I was just being a jerk about the one way NHL money he quoted.

Yes, but he can still apply the citizenship, just that he'll have to give up his Canadian one.

Because of the Edmonton connection? Or because he signed, and ended up not really amounting to much in the end?

OFF-TOPIC

Looking at some of the images of the protests in Hong Kong, I'm not sure I would voluntarily represent such a government. I wish young Mr. Foo the best.
