Yanks got him in a Steinbrenner move , solely to prevent the Red Sox and anyone else getting him, because they don’t really need a 1b DH on that team. Stanton is coming back soon, though they have Morales currently on the team, and in the twist of fate, he will be replaced by EE ans KM “replaced” EE on the roster a few years back.
That said, EE is leading the league in homers and RBIs. Mariners apparently already stink so they are selling the off-season acquisitions already.
Good for him.

Matinee Jays game and they’re crushing the Astros. Thornton pitching well, Gurriel is having a good game, Vladdy with a hit.

Gurriel is a monster right now. I seem to recall he tore the cover off the ball last year after a trip to the minors too. To bad players don’t have unlimited options.

Yeah since being called back up this is his slash line in 21 games .329 .372 .684 1.056
He's also swinging at less pitches out of the zone and taking more walks.
He looks like a decent LF option defensively too so far.
Hope it continues.

I realize the Jays need someone to eat innings but this is just getting embarrassing.

They put Kingham on the 25 man. Probably have him up soon.

... I guess technically speaking 2 innings is inning s. But yes, Jackson should probably retire or agree to go to Buffelo to share his (considerable) big league experience with the guys there if he can't find another team that'll take him on.

Jays string some hits together but thanks to a bonehead play by Grichuk, getting thrown out trying to go 1st to 3rd, they end up with nothing. Growing pains suck.

Poor Stroman just jobbed by terrible run support all season.
I hope he gets traded for a solid return and wins every game he starts the rest of the year.

After seeing the returns the Atkins has gotten on his trades, I have little faith that Atkins will get a very good return for Stroman.
This team can't hit and only have two pitchers who can actually pitch and they are going to trade both of them.
Might be better to just keep Stroman and Giles as anchors of the pitching staff going forward.
The reality is that they are most likely going to get middle rotation arms in return for Stroman.

Good analysis of the early results from Cavan Biggio here: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/what-we-...biggio-so-far/
The Jays really need to get some elite near-ready arms. I feel pretty good about the future of the bats, the arms?... not as much.

My thoughts exactly. Stroman is still quite young and under team control. Why trade him for assets, that may or may not pan out, if he’s already an excellent #2? If Shoemaker can return to decent form from his injury you have a great depth starter. And Sanchez still has a good arm despite finger and control issues right now. That’s a decent 2,3,4 going forward. And once some dead money comes off the books, go after a stud in free agency. And things all of a sudden are looking quite different.

I'm gonna have to disagree about Sanchez. He's awful IMO
