Does Shaw not have an online control? I can change my Telus package or subscribed channels any time and as many times as I want in my Telus account.

Center Ice was $209 on Telus though.

Yep, I won't give them another dime in this lifetime after paying for all their services and getting blacked out in 2019. Never again. I'll pirate streams and couldn't give a damn

That's super annoying, I really don't want to pay for 2 services and have no use for Sportsnet outside of watching Flames games.
And they wonder why people go for illegal sources
You can thank the lawyers and the accountants for that reality.

Nhl.tv works fine . only time I got blacked out was in Calgary is in Van. Might be a bigger issue this year but there are ways around it and sometimes it just choices not to blackout.

I just got centre ice from Telus, told them I subscribed last year as well but felt I should get some type of compensation since the season was cancelled. They said they couldn’t reduce the price on centre ice but they gave me 10 bucks off my tv for 6 months which was sweet.

It looks like Sportsnet offers something called "Sportsnet Now +" which includes access to all Sportsnet channels plus NHL Live and some other stuff if you like European soccer or rugby: https://secure.snnow.ca/pricing

It's $250/year if you buy a full year in advance, which I think is cheaper than buying NHL Live and Sportsnet separately.
NHL live does show the national broadcasts. I've been using the service the last couple seasons and have had virtually every Flames game (maybe there was one weird exception).

My only problem with the service is the occasional login or casting glitch. But as a Flames fan in Vancouver (who doesn't have cable) its the way to go.

If the game starts live at 5pm Pacific from Toronto, would I be able to access the NHL Live app and start watching the game from the beginning at 7:00pm Pacific or do I have to wait until the game is over.

I'm not certain but pretty sure you can watch from the beginning even if its in progress. Just be careful not to go to the scores page of the app to launch the game.

I have been subscribed to NHL live in BC for 6 years now and the only games that have been blacked out are the ones played in Vancouver. If they are nationally broadcast I think they were available for me but not the ones just on Sportsnet Pacific. For the few games that were played in Vancouver I just went to the Pub and watched.
