Vegas has 95 points and is a +41 I'd be happy if the Flames had those "worts".

At this point I'd be surprised if the Flames won more than 3 out of the remaining 10 games.

Who cares if they finish 12th or 15th?? How many times are we going to bring up the Hamonic trade? We've got a solid top 4 defenceman who plays his heart out for this team. He'll have an A on his sweater within the next two years.

So tired of this crap.

Then you better stay away from this place in June. Hamonic may not be in the team after another two years seeing he will be UFA so he better get that A on his sweater soon.

Yeah....I like Hamonic, but lets call a spade a spade here.

We got Hamonic because management thought the playoffs were basically a given.

"We can spend the 1st because we'll be in the playoffs and that 1st is going to be low anyways."

And yet here we are.

I dont have an issue with the Hamonic trade or the acquisition of Hamonic. I have an issue with the performance of the team in general.

The fact of the matter is that at the moment we are scratching and clawing for our playoff lives. But we didnt have to be. We have pissed away a ton of points.

I can probably think of at least a half dozen games we could have won and now be in a comfortable playoff spot. Even if I leave the Oilers off the table.

And yet here we are.

I could have lived with just the single 1st round pick being given up but the two 2nd round picks are arguably bigger in the big picture. Of all organizations in the league none should know better about the perils of trading all your 2nd round picks more than the Flames yet for some inexcusable reason the cycle is repeating. We are unfortunately a few years away from starting the entire rebuild all over again before the current team even had a chance to properly rebuild which is extremely depressing.

I hate to be 'That Guy' but while you are not wrong, its still one of the best Home Records in the League which, for an expansion team, is amazing.

This is setting up that way. Two big road wins, probably within 2 points of a playoff spot by Wednesday, and then boom, more disappointment at home on Wednesday.
Whoa! Very realistic take. What's happened to you?!

The last game against Edmonton, and Anaheim early in the season when they finally broke the curse. But those are really the only ones that come to mind, which is sad.

Flames are exactly the medicine an ailing knights team needs... The flames pump up teams needing a morale boost.... It's what they are good at

7-2 knights with Smith pulled after the 7th. Flames score 2 late in the third to make it close.

Not a good feeling about this one. Flames just playing out the rest of this abortion of a season knowing they're all but cooked, Vegas cruising to the playoffs and will probably still win handily.

Hopefully just 10 more games of Gulutzan hockey to endure, everyone. Keep those chins up.

define a "few" years. Cause when I hear a few, I think 3-4 and if you think they're going to blow this team up in 4 years, that might be your worst take ever.

Outside of Giordano and probably Backlund, in 4 years, there won't be a bunch of old past their prime players. Not to mention, a lot can happen in 4 years. This team could turn it around next season with a new coach. Look how things have changed so quickly for teams this year, good and/or bad. So much can change and so fast. The Preds were a 8 seed, made a run to finals and now are a cup contender in a 12 month span.

I just think it's ridiculously presumptuous to think a rebuild is coming soon, especially when the core of this team is still pretty damn young.

This isn't the 09-11 Flames teams with aging veterans past their prime.
