I also concur with all the recommended options in Kensington, and would add in Brasserie as well. Damn, our neighourhood rocks!

Lot102 in Kensington was good when it still open. I'm a big fan of Hayden Block. Amazing BBQ - Good chance to see some of the stampeders post game too during the summer.

Guys, I really don't wanna go to Kensington because of atrocious parking. Thanks though.

Beltline/Downtown only.

Yes it is.

I insisted it get added to my 'crew's bike and beer cruises when we headed over to Banded Peak and Annex. Though not Downtown or Beltline.

Just to close off the Kensington thing, most of what has been suggested are not pubs. Oak Tree, Kensington Pub and arguably Side Street qualify. Nothing else does (I have not been to Prohibition but based on the name alone I assume it's an embarrassing contrivance). He asked for pubs, and people are suggesting Brasserie and Winebar? COME ON.

Moreover, having lived in Kensington for years until last spring, I can say without any hesitation that the amount of places to go for a casual beer and bite to eat is totally immaterial. The only reason that any of them should exist at all is to handle any overflow that might occur when Hayden Block is full and people don't want to wait for a seat there. Hayden Block is love. Hayden Block is life. Hayden Block is not a pub, still, but it is amazing.

So... any opinions of Hayden Block?... Anyone?

God forbid that anyone spread their wings beyond the OP's original request!

No one else is interested in Calgary's hottest clubs! (Bill Hader is on SNL this week).

If you don't get the reference, do not look it up.

Another vote for the Ship, for everything except watching soccer (sacrilege, I know). I prefer Home & Away for that.

For NFL, I enjoy Joyce on 4th as their brunch is phenomenal. I also really enjoy St. James Corner. Pig and Duke used to be fantastic, but their food has gone downhill big time and their service is always hit or miss.

For post work drinks that don't require a patio, Bear and Kilt all the way.

I wrote this for Halloween, and can't top it:

Calgary's hottest Halloween Party is Boo! at the #1 Legion.

Club promoter Tranny McDonald has gone all out.

This place has everything: Freddie Mercury's ghost, a punk band called the Baseball Furies, a Battling Tops tournament, and human Halloween Kisses.

Go to the Ship, if you don't like it, you can go next door to National.

National and Craft and 10th are pretty hot right now too.

If you don't want him to come back, you could try Verns or Dickens.

Would it be polite if I thank your double post for the second time or, rather, would it be impolite if I didn't?

P.S. I did it anyway...
