While frustrating for sure, its really been a blessing in disguise (I think). All the ice time for Nakladal and Wotherspoon. They both may have extended their NHL careers with this time.

1. Gaudreau - 22
2. Monahan - 21
3. Bennett - 19
4. Backlund - 26
5. Bouma - 25

I just used their current ages, although granted some of them will be having birthdays in the next few months.

477 divided by 19 = 25.1

2-1 Preds. Ortio continues his strong play and we still can't score.

Monahan with his first career hat trick. Hat-trick? Hatrick? Is there an official spelling?

Young lineup, I like it. Grabbed some tickets for this one, first game of 2016, so GFG!

Sure would like to see the BOLD happen. Both those guys deserve an opportunity. Although Grant as 4th line C more so, if he hadn't had his jaw broken in practice.

Flames have only 2 non-emergency call-ups, so it's gonna be interesting who they pick in the last couple weeks.

"Deserves" might not be the only factor - "one more shot" might be as well, for guys like a Shore or Poirier who've been up but didn't do as well as hoped.

Not sure how I feel about Jokipakka on the second pair. I guess we'll find out. Would have liked to see Wotherspoon there though.

Using actual birthdates gets the number I quoted. But sure.

I think Jokipakka is what our top 4 has missed desperately since Regehr departed... Massive physical presence that can move the puck up and out of the d zone with the added bonus of some good offensive instincts so far; Ive been super impressed with the early viewings of this guy and I am intrigued to see him in the top 4 tonight.

Out of our bottom 3 defencemen he has by far the most NHL experience, so he is indeed a better option to pair with Dougie than the other two.

Don't quote me on it, but I have heard him referred to as "Nineteen year old Sam Bennett". Again though, take with a grain of salt, as my old man memory is riddled with gaping holes.

I figured your number was probably more accurate based on not using just their age in years.

They have 4, do they not? Wotherspoon is considered an emergency, based on roster spots open. As is Hathaway.

IIRC they have 3, Brad Pascall confirmed that they burned a non-emergency callup on Ortio. Not entirely sure about Wotherspoon's recall status.
