Honest question, when was the last time the Flames on the power play had a one timer shot, not even goal, just shot from below the point? Am I crazy and it's actually happening and I just don't recall it?

When you have a man advantage, the number one thing you want to be looking for and setting up is the one timer. How many of the NHL highlights that consist of PP goals consist of that? How often has it happened for the Flames?

I mean I feel like I'm actually smarter than the coaching staff.

Crazy how knowledgeable hockey writers can dissect everything that’s wrong with our special teams but our coaching staff makes almost zero changes, and if there is a change it takes half the season to make it. Just beyond absurd

The stat about the 2D and 3F is so damming on GG and Cameron, just shows the level of their incompetency. But hey, who would’ve guessed a Canucks assistant coach and a fired Senators coach would be anywhere near competent. Well done Brad

Really interesting article. Lots of video on what a 5-3 or any power play should look like. Basically shows Cameron Nd GG are incompetent at running a PP.

It's an easy fix; just tell the players they no longer need to count five steamboats before passing or shooting the puck.

Dellow was the analytics guy and seemed to have a fair amount of input into the worst era of Oilers hockey.

That 5 on 3 was the most pathetic out of a long list of them this season. Not sure what the coaches are doing but the Flames would be better off with no 5 on 3 coaching or practice. Just put Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Monahan, Hamilton, and Giordano on the ice and let them do their thing.

The powerplay killed this team:

CGY with another strong move to worst shooting in the league last night, scored ~30 fewer goals than expected, behind MTL what're the sources? PP shooting, particularly Monahan, almost 8 fewer goals than expected on PP. Hamilton only positive PP shooter EV bottom-6 & Backlund too



BT can wait until the end of the season to fire the rest of the coaches for all I care, but Cameron to me is the biggest culprit and needs to be fired into the sun immediately, never to return to a professional coaching position.

How Hamilton doesn't get 1st unit powerplay time until game 55 to see the powerplay start working, and then he's removed shortly after and the powerplay fell apart again - it's absolutely baffling. This is the most egregious, nonsensical error I have ever seen from a member of the Flames' coaching staff.

This is a supremely unintelligent being. I have no other way to describe it.
