I just read an article about our team being handled to Seattle... How big is this game, and the remainder of the season? We NEED the playoffs at The Dome this year. How much pressure is on them?

The Panthers will only end up paying ~$26M of real cash to Luongo. Meaning the Canucks will pay ~$38M for less than 4 years of service.

Funny thing is that a lot of the worst contracts were of the UFA variety that most fans called bad the day they were announced. Not so sure of why they think 9$ million over the next two years for a guy that doesn't give the team anything is easy to dispose of.

This makes me ridiculously happy, as both a Panthers fan AND a Flames fan.

As usual Canadian teams dominate the bad contracts. The perils of having to spend money on a mare of takers who generally want nothing to do with making it in your market.

Corey Perry's isn't great but there was a probably a time during that deal with he could have been making 10 million so it evens out.
