We haven't played any games against Vegas yet either-- I doubt we win all of them, but those could help swing things one way or another

Without a doubt. We play them 4 times still. 10 of their next 13 games are on the road. They have been playing the entire year without any pressure, how do they play under pressure after the allstar game. We closed the gap with LA to 3 points and we still play them a couple times.

I don't know about that but I know there's a 100% chance we'll win the Stanley Cup.
I have parade route setup and patio decorations prepared. I'm just running out of storage but can't stop myself!

I suppose it's possible but it's also senseless to speculate about it at this point. Happy if the Flames can secure a playoff spot first. That's hardly a sure thing yet in and of itself. However I will agree that catching the Kings looks like an attainable goal.

Great point. Hey, took out Tampa. After last nights game I just feel anything is possible. How many time have we seen the stupid Ducks go on a second half surge and take top spot, why not the Flames?

I highly doubt it, but I like your optimism.

I think the Division is likely out of reach, but the #2 slot is also a home playoff series, and I fully expect that the Flames will be a good bet to land there.

I disagree. Until they're mathematically eliminated from the top spot it's never out of reach. It may be unlikely to happen, but it's not impossible.

To be fair he did say "likely". Pretty much what you said but in a different way.

We've got games to play against Vegas and if somehow they can get their poop in a group and beat the goddamn Oilers we could have a decent shot of moving up.
I dont know about winning the Division but it would be nice to get comfy in a playoff spot.
I always hate the dogfight to the death at the end of the season for the last spot.

Playing like they are right now? Yes absolutely I think they have a chance.
The Flames do tend to have a stronger 2nd half of the season so I remain very optimistic. Plus if they can snag that 1st or 2nd place spot I think the Flames can go far.

is it good the win the Division? We'd have to play someone from the Central.

Possible, but unlikely.

Possible but very unlikely. This winning streak - which many of us predicted would silence the doom and gloomers - just has the Flames scraping back into the playoff picture. There will be some soft patches thru to April - don't expect the Flames to finish any higher than second in the Pacific - and even that will require a real meltdown from Vegas and/or LA.

Flames are closer to first in the Pacific than the Oilers are to a playoff spot.

I personally expect LA to come back down to earth farther. Three points can be a lot or it can be not very hard at all. I wonder about the trade deadline too. Sometimes it doesn't benefit a team to tinker with their team. Say Vegas or LA or SJ make a couple moves and all of a sudden they aren't clicking anymore. Just looks at the Sens.

LA is for real this year again. Got rid of Sutter and have a healthy Quick. You don't fall very far with that line up. Last year was an anomaly for them.
Vegas - i have no answers.
