So this is the worst part, Trump as an ex-president will continue to receive intelligence briefings.
Every part of me expects him to use those briefings to grandstand and call out Biden et al.
Could he be the first ex-president to have this privilege rescinded?
I had wondered if someone could still be convicted in an impeachment after leaving office, but I think the election results didn't go a way that would support that fantasy.
problem is, if you rescind his privileges you just know that he'll use this to play the victim and further fire up his base. Lose-lose situation.
You can't kowtow to his base. They'll get fired up about anything (Dijon mustard, tan suits, conspiracy theories, flat earth, etc.). Do what you need to do and ignore the fata out of those dopes.

He'll probably pay more attention to them after he's gone than he does now for more Twitter and Trump TV ammo.
He’s not going to have the protection of the office once he’s out - he might’ve flaunted his ability to declassify whatever he wanted before, but if he broadcasts or trafficks information from the PDB, he will stop receiving them and nobody will care about the tantrum he throws.

He didn’t care about them while he was president, I doubt he’d care much about them after. Maybe they’d be rescinded because he is a risk for other reasons.
CIA should put out some bad intel in Trump's brief, and then listen for that same intel to make its way into foreign hands, then they can use that as a reason to have briefings to Trump suspended.

1000% this is happening

Lawyers for the Trump campaign have dropped a lawsuit seeking a review of all ballots cast on Election Day after finding that the margin of victory for the presidential contest in Arizona could not be overcome.
The Trump campaign filed the lawsuit on Saturday alleging some voters were confused on Election Day and feared that their ballots were not counted if the vote tabulation machines classified their ballots as overvotes. They were seeking a hand review of any ballots flagged by the machine as overvotes alleging it could result in thousands of votes for President Donald Trump.

"As Durvasula explained, many of Trump's seemingly inexplicable actions as president make sense when viewed through the lens of a "narcissistic or antagonist personality style." These include "validation and admiration seeking," as manifested by his "endless campaign rallies despite the associated danger, needing to be taken on a ride around the hospital when he had COVID-19 so people could wave to him, repeatedly requiring validation on the number of people present at his inauguration." Trump also displays denial, as seen by his response to the pandemic, and vindictiveness, as demonstrated by his obsession with reversing Barack Obama's legacy "seemingly just to punish him" as well as by his threat to "withhold federal funds from California for wildfire destruction because he perceives the state is against him."
Post election, what can be expected.
"If Trump loses, Durvasula says it will be like watching a three-year-old refuse to go to bed.
"They will just stand there, poignantly in their Superman pajamas and say NO, I am NOT going to bed, and drop to the ground and scream," she explained. "Plan on an adult version of that. As is often the case when a difficult personality style like this faces disappointment we tend to see a cascade of reactions – oppositionality, denial, rage, despair, paranoia, more rage, entitlement, victimhood, and vindictiveness."
"As political activist and former Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader wrote in August, Trump could pressure the Justice Department to issue bogus subpoenas in order to punish his critics and opponents, pull out of contracts with businesses and individuals who he feels wronged him, refuse to work with Biden's transition team in handing over power and (of course) "intensify the use of the Justice Department and his personal lawyers to challenge in every frivolous, obstructive way the results of the election in selected states, no matter what the margin of his defeat."
"Trump could also pick winners and losers in terms of who receives federal help during the pandemic and recession, helping those who sided with him and exacting vengeance against those who did not. He could egg on his supporters into committing acts of violence or, at the very least, do everything in his power to make sure they do not accept the legitimacy of a Biden presidency. He could pressure the Federal Reserve to try to drive up interest rates and stop supporting the stock and corporate bond markets, actions that would tank the American economy (and which Trump would most likely attempt to blame on Biden)."
"Most ominous of all, a narcissist like Trump could simply refuse to leave office when his term ends on January 20, 2021."
Pretty bang on so far.

The more absurd one is this, which can be summed up as, "The ever-accurate and brilliant Sean Hannity says there were voting irregularities in these states, therefore I win them by default!"

The shuffle at the Pentagon, top Aides still insisting they are prepping for a second Trump term, and now the sudden dropping of all these lawsuits..... I don't like this one bit.
I hope this doesn't sound like left wing tinfoil, but I am terrified this guy is going straight to plan B and is going to try and divide the military to stay in power. Don't forget, approximately 1/2 of Americans still voted for this guy, and that would include military personnel.
I think this thing gets way uglier, and worry there is going to be a military conflict before Jan 20th. Trump is that narcissistic, crazy and desperate. He knows his life as he knows it is basically over on that day.
The top cybersecurity agency inside the Department of Homeland Security has repeatedly rebuked claims made by President Donald Trump and his campaign of widespread voter fraud inside the 2020 election, and a source with knowledge of the situation said its director now expects to be fired.
“There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised,” the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said in a statement released Thursday.
CISA is responsible for securing the 2020 elections and has been exposing what it calls election-related "rumors" on its website -- including those spread by Trump and his allies.
CISA's "Rumor Control" site has debunked everything from software glitches in voting software to votes being cast by dead people.
“While we know there are many unfounded claims and opportunities for misinformation about the process of our elections, we can assure you we have the utmost confidence in the security and integrity of our elections, and you should too," the members of Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council Executive Committee said. "When you have questions, turn to elections officials as trusted voices as they administer elections.”
The statement goes on to say that “The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history."
The development of Krebs’ expected firing was first reported by Reuters.

Even G.W. Bush continued to give Al Gore national security briefings while the Florida results were in dispute. There is absolutely nothing to lose by letting Biden get daily briefings, something he has been receiving since July anyway.
Trump doesn't care about the welfare of Americans and is probably the country's number one national security risk. It's time to take him for a ride in the convertible.

Wasn't Clinton in office when the Gore dispute was happening?
