Didn't look that bad? Puck is no where near. He slashed him in the back of the leg and then full on hunted him. Body checks him, punches him in the head while he's down and then drops on top of him.
It was a atempt at a Dale Weise joke, guess none got it.
Not surprised to find out oilier fans liked that play.
Big thing I don't understand is what a play like that accomplished? Intimidating a team you only play once more, and who just beat you in a blow out? If it were a division rival at least it would make some sense for future consideration.

So does McLellan. $6 million dollar goon!!
Quote:
Oilers head coach Todd McLellan said Lucic was doing his job as the team's enforcer.
"He felt that a player took a liberty with , and I agree with the liberty part of it," McLellan said after the game. "Part of the reason we have Luc here is to take care of teammates and he did that."

Lucic looked like a dumb ape attacking someone who stumbled into his cage. BS move on his part. Good on Stamkos for calling him out in his post game interview. I'd love to see him suspended. But that probably actually helps the Oilers.

The result was silly, but if that's not predatory I don't know what is. Tough to suspend considering what came out of it though.
It's such a lazy Oiler way to do something too. "Oh, go after the guy that hit Russell? I'll do that right now."
No momentum, no flow, not finishing your check every time you come near him or anything of the sort. He's just going to whack him... then chase him around the offensive zone until he can get his hands on him. The worse of the 'intimidation' tactics, as you look like a goof more than anyone's worried about taking runs at your kids.
That can get out of the game right now, as the alternative is a lot more fun to watch. Can't believe that even at the enforcer level, he's also garbage.
Gotta love the spineless commentary not calling him out, actually they make excuses for hitting a defensless player and then throwing a sucker punch while he’s in the ground. Real tough guy right there
Someone missed a great opportunity to destroy McPowerpuff. When that weaselly little puke goes speeding into the pile to grab someone like, someone should take every opportunity to tune him in a bit.

That's what I was thinking. Lucic just went savage on your rookie, grab McDavid and break his nose. Teach that little dick a lesson for jumping into a pile and acting like a tough guy. Lucic is a scumbag. Full stop

I'm pretty sure the refs just draped themselves over McDavid once he entered the scrum
