cheering so hard for Real feels so wrong. I'll have to take a shower after this.

Say goodnight. Imagine spending £400 million to do what Arsenal do.

Zeroes across the board. Have to feel bad for fans at Anfield, I figured this one might be a snoozer.

simply brilliant how Asensio created that goal. Won the ball, started the counter, shielded the ball, waited for help, played the deadly through ball. Wonderful stuff. And Ronaldos hang-time is simply ridiculous, he's one of the best headers of the ball I've ever seen.

So is Emery sacked immediately or do they wait until year end? Wenger to PSG? Let the fun commence.

not the manager they want, but the manager they deserve.

make it happen. I'm sure Wenger would cherish coaching a few of those players that he "almost" signed at Arsenal.

yup. I enjoy teams like Lyon, Rennes, Marseille and Nice a lot - the league has produced a lot of talent lately. I've found that league to be more interesting than some other "big" leagues in Europe over the last few years.

The biggest difference between the oil clubs is City spend wisely and have good football people in place. PSG and Chelsea are shambles really on the ownership/management side of things, and until they work that out their ships will be rudderless, albeit extremely nice ships.

Lol, City spends wisely now? I mean they certainly have the practice, but it’s laughable to think a club just pouring money on a team could be considered as wise spenders. They’ve got a better result this year, if that’s what you mean.

For me, City and their diabolical plan with all of the feeder clubs is just a scourge. I won’t say that’s wise spending at all, because it should be disallowed. I don’t like the Chelsea/Vitesse arrangement and also the Red Bulls. I just think the lot of them should be barred, but to consider it wise and somehow give credit for an independent state to mess with the leagues in that way is ludicrous.

Lost track of time earlier today and was in a panic about whether to head home early in order to catch the game.

Thankfully Liverpool had enough of an aggregate lead I was willing to miss it. Just barely.

I don't know if I agree with that. They are all quite similar. City is in okay shape now but only because they completely opened up the wallet for Pep. Last year nobody was singing their praises.

Chelsea is in a bit of an owner-manager struggle over the last little while but really of the 3 "oil money" teams they also have the most success over the long term.

I actually don't disagree with PSG's strategy this last window. Screw getting good to great players. Go get the best young talent in the game and the guys who look to be elite... Neymar & Mbappe.

Really look at their "record" transfers prior this past season and it hasn't been like the throw that around every transfer window. I'd say the worst stretch they had was going after Di Maria and Luiz for really big money. But some really shrewd moves in there as well (Verratti for $12M).

In the end the Champions League draw is what did them in this season - and it's not like Barcelona and Madrid don't like to throw their money around either.

The draw is The issue

They dominated a group with the 3rd favorite for the CL this year

Better team for 60 minutes at Madrid and had a bad stretch then lost neymar for the 2nd leg

Their season is so different if they drew basel or sevilla etc.

It's not even like their spending was poor like pointed out, they have a really solid team

Juve denied a clear penalty. Great game so far.

That might be game...but Juve probably always needed 2 goals at Wembley to have a chance.

They would have met Barcelona or Madrid or Bayern or Man City at some point. Would losing in the QF or the SF really have salvaged the season? It was Finals or bust.
