Brutal effort. Thought the whole d core was awful. Slow moving the puck and just slow overall. Don’t know how many chances they had to clear the puck and they failed at it all night long. Brutal to watch. Again this team outworked. Not a good habit to have. Need to correct it and fast.
No Bennett the last 10 or so minutes. Anyone notice why? Hopefully not an injury and I didn’t see anything he did that would deserve benching. He was one of the few guys playing somewhat well.

Gaudreau would look better on a second line :
Gaudreau - Lindholm - whomever
Where he can feast on lesser competition.
Tkachuk is better defensively, and it's time for Monahan to drive a line.

Thank God baseball playoffs are on... Made tonight a very enjoyable night.

The Flames started 5-5-1 last year and finished 2nd overall.
Frustrating so far for sure, but it's a LONG season.

Well they better change something because for almost full calendar year this team has been meh. Think the NHL quickly figured out how to play these guys for sure.

Clifford, who would have done something dirty to Tkachuk if left alone.

I'd much rather the team flounder most of the season and pull it together heading into the playoffs, as apposed to last season.

Clifford was about to grab Tkachuk, and he got a taste of flying Giordano.

How long is Jankowskis leash?
Does sitting him a couple games help? I get there are much bigger fish to fry but you likely aren’t sitting Johny. Jankowski with a handful of turnovers in each game or poor execution on the PK dump out. It seems he’s been asked to play the body more but he throws such awkward soft checks leaving him out of position.

Need bigger and more physical players. You can have all the small skilled guys in the world but they are getting bumped of the puck too easily. They played dump amd chase for almost 2 1/2 periods. ####.. I was having Brent sutter flashbacks.
You need 3 things speed, skill and physicality. They have speed and skill.

True, but last year there was a new coach, new systems, etc...
Hopefully your thinking is proven to be prophetic, but this team has an established group seeing most of the ice and they continue to be chronically inconsistent. Hope this Zebra chooses to change its stripes.

Flames not inspiring a lot of confidence in the themselves right now. Generally have something off with them most games.
Maybe this team is gonna struggle this year. Still should make playoffs, but might not be division contenders.

Crappy game tonight, but at least they always play well in Anaheim, so they're sure to bounce back tomorrow.

All it took was a Penguins 9-1 beatdown last year to fire up this team.
I don’t know if this is the game that triggers us, but I hope it’s sooner than later if this isn’t the wake-up call game.

Tough game but one would hope there would be some growth from it.
It must be so humiliating to know that you were a no show for your teammates.
Proper mental and emotional pregame preparation is such an integral part of being a good professional.
In game resets must be so difficult when you don’t have the proper base to start.
Live and learn.
