#Flames projected lines and pairings vs. #Kings:

Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Lucic-Ryan-Bennett
Rieder-Jankowski-Czarnik

Giordano-Brodie
Hanifin-Hamonic
Kylington-Andersson

Rittich (Starter)
Talbot
I like the look of that 4th line. Looks to be a line that has the potential to pot one tonight.

It looks to be on CBC and SN1 both after the Bruins/Leafs that always goes to OT and on SN360 and CityTV after Sens/Coyotes. I'd record one of each.

Definitely not CBC. If the Leafs game goes to OT it will take precedence on the main networks. I think either SN1 or SN360. I am personally recording the game on two channels.

Oh I completely misread the question. I thought the poster was asking about recording everything including OT, shootouts, and postgame stuff from the Flames game.

I agree with Textcritic. It appears that tonight's game is going to be simulcast on basically all of Sportsnet's auxiliary channels; Sportsnet 360 is probably the best bet.

Ya not bad, especially with one guy out. Lots of speed and skill. The guys just haven't been able to put it together.

Rieder the speed, Czarnik the skill, and Jankowski the center?

Rittich tonight and save Talbot for Anaheim. Hopefully Talbot won't have the Flames-Honda-centre karma on him yet and will win there.

Although the losing streak was broken a couple of seasons ago, we gotta build up more wins there.

They are a sad shadow of their former self. Historically games between the two teams have always been firey and entertaining. Doughty and Tkachuk are trying to keep that going, but without LA being any kind of a threat, I don't know if they are really hated. Or a rival. More hated than rival?

Kind of half an oiler, two thirds a canuck.

Hard to argue when you win 2 cups but Blake has some serious work to do to clean up the mess left by Lombardi.

Kovalchuk 4.25M until 2021
Kopitar 10.0M until 2024
Brown 5.88M until 2022
Carter 5.27M until 2022
Doughty 11.0M until 2024
Quick 5.88M until 2023
Phaneuf buyout 1.42M until 2023

There’s definitely an argument that Kopitar and Doughty are currently market value but Kopitar will be 37 when his deal ends and Doughty 34. The way Quick is playing it’ll be impossible to trade him for something of value. In fact they’d have to give up an asset and retain salary to get out of that deal. And it’s not like they have a stable of blue chip prospects either. Kupari and Vilardi look like solid picks and Anderson and Thomas have potential but it looks like Blake will need to use the scorched earth blueprint and pick up a couple top 5 picks over the next 3 years before Brown and Carter come off the books.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Blake signed most of those contracts himself

Also Kovalchuk makes 6.25, not 4.25

Signed Kovalchuk, re-signed Doughty, traded for than bought out Phanuef.

Game is on at 4am here, but I have enough work that I can probably just stay up and clear a lot of stuff off my plate before watching!
Sleep is for the weak, right?

CGY has a had a few games in a row with great effort. That’s what we want to see. Come out strong and get after it.

An interesting note there is that Kipper's first 75 games played were all starts (with 75 decisions), but Rittich has only started 65 of his first 74 games (with 65 decisions). This means he could potentially catch Kipper's wins record over their first 75 starts with the team.

----------

Rittich will become the 14th goalie to play at least 75 games with the Calgary Flames tonight (and 16th with the Flames franchise).

He will also become the 6th goalie to play his first 75 NHL games with the Flames. Bouchard (ATL), Riggin (ATL/CGY), Lemelin (ATL/CGY), Vernon, and Kidd are the others... Almost 25 years since a "home grown" goalie has reached the 75 games played mark with the Flames.

When Rittich gets his next win, he'll move into a tie with Pat Riggin and Don Edwards for the 10th-most wins by a Calgary Flames goalie. He could/should be top-5 by the end of this season.
