Lol, he actually wants it broadcast live? That would be an absolute disaster for him, as he can't help but lie and spew insane bulls*** constantly. I imagine his lawyers are losing their minds right now trying to convince him to testify behind closed doors instead... if he testifies at all.
The subpoena from the J6 committee doesn't come with the same legal obligations that come from a court, right? Can't he simply not attend and not see any consequences from that?

"Now hold on on that question. Just.. just hold on, I'm of course going to plead the 5th on that, I'd be stupid not to, but you need to know what was really going on..." and then he'll perjure himself. No way can he resist.

I'm not a fan of Murica's very obvious approach towards China to do their best to block/slowdown/prevent China's progress, modernization and growth. For me, the better option is for China and the US to work together in the world's economy which both would benefit from. It doesn't need to be one of them doing well only. I feel the approach is more of the same desire for American hegemony/dominance in regions around the world which the majority of countries around the world are finally speaking up about over the last while due to alternative partnerships being available now with China that doesn't involve a ton of promises with no follow through often. I feel like the Americans' recent aggression in the Asia-Pacific region, such as them threatening to invade the Solomon Islands if they allow China to dock on their own territory is the US trying to desperately hang on to how things used to be when they can see that the countries that used to kowtow to all their demands are now going to make their own decisions for their own country's best interests and not the Americans.
As I said, I think both the US and China would benefit much more economically if they worked together, but I also believe that by moving in this direction and attempting to cut supply off to China specifically out of fear will only push China to innovate on their own, which they are already doing now given the cold relations with the US. In the end, China will get there whether it's with the US or without.

Working with China means that they need to be a willing and acceptable partner. With all of the industrial espionage, IP stealing, etc, China being an acceptable partner has been declining for years. There are still good businesses in China, but it seems anything associated with the government is highly suspicious.

America's most recent moves against the tech industry in China are extremely aggressive, and for the first time threaten to actually be really damaging. They could impact all sorts of industries in China, ultimately damaging areas like medical imaging tech, transportation, pharmaceutical innovation, and many other areas that have nothing to do with the US at all other than them being part of China achieving more competitive economic and technological development. If the US policies achieve their goals, it will also be bad for a lot of the emerging and developing markets of the world that buy Chinese tech infrastructure to advance their own societies. It's pretty disgusting, and threatens to set much of the world's population most in need of advancement further back on that path just for the sake of US hegemony as the unipolar power.

You don't think that this has anything to do with China chilling the hell out on the espionage? It's getting a little ridiculous. I randomly have a short conversation about smurfs while my phone is in my pocket, and next time I open tiktok, it's an absolute smurf-fest.
