Right, but it goes to your point that they're having trouble generating scoring chances from open play.

I think the Laporte injury is it for City's chances in the league this year, they look abysmal defensively without him. And not starting De Bruyne is very idiotic too, you're up against a bus and you bench the best bus unlocker in the world? They look devoid of ideas without him.

I dont know, it'll make it more difficult but they've got a lot of quality.

Having to rely on John Stones long term could be problematic though.

What’s wrong with Stones long term?

CB is probably the only place they don't have that quality of depth. Stones and Otamendi are their only experienced CBs who are fit until the New Year. It's not even that they are gonna be bad, just they'll drop a few more points without Laporte and as we saw last year a few points is everything with how close it is between Liverpool and City. This is Norwich's B-team so dropping any points is a disaster.

Yeah say goodnight to Man City's chances. Otamendi with a debacle. Norwich were 18/1 to win!

I imagine we'll be seeing Pep break the transfer record for a defender in January. Every time Norwich go forward City look in trouble.

Awesome win for Norwich, awesome day for Laporte too because surely his wages are going way up giving how badly they need him.

I feel like unless Van Dijk gets injured badly like Laporte that Liverpool might have the league won by Christmas.

I think it's a bit premature. It's likely that Liverpool drops points at some point as well.

Liverpool will lose a shocker at some point too. Way too early to declare champions.
Besides, Arsenal will finish first anyway

Absolutely. We're only 5 games in.

City went on a run to end the season winning 14 games straight to win the League, they could do it again.

Arsenal dont seem poised to win much of anything.

Of course Liverpool will drop points but they've lost once in their last 43 games and the only team that is in their way, as we saw today, have 5 months of a nightmare defensive pairing ahead. I just don't see Liverpool being challenged unless they run into injury problems.

City have the talent to score their way out of trouble, they almost pulled it out of the fire today and I'm sure they're already adapting future strategies.

Today was a perfect storm. Norwich had a game plan that they executed perfectly for nearly the entire 90 minutes, they took advantage of some mistakes from Otamendi, Stones and Ederson and Pep lined his squad up naively and tried to compensate by the time it was too late.

I doubt those all happen again at the same time.
