All the sidewalks will be replaced and upgraded (I believe starting soon) across the Kensington area (thankfully!), so that would be difficult to manage with such a large street festival. Anyway, a change to Sun and Salsa as a them would also probably be good.

Some people may. I, sir, will not.

Any good parking tips for Kensington? I wanted to try out Flipp'n Burgers last weekend, but I bailed and went somewhere else figuring the headache of finding a parking space on a weekend wouldn't be worth it.

Sunnyside LRT drops you off right by Flipp'n Burgers.
Best parking would be a park and ride.

Or you could just park in the safeway lot. As long as you're not there for too long you're usually okay. There's also an underground lot by Julio's that's like a 5 minute walk.

There's two hr parking all around the LRT station in the residential areas. The weekend you should be fine without getting a ticket.
Or just train there.

Park on 5th Ave by the Shell station - can stay 1-2 hours depending where and time of day.

Thought about that but wasn't sure how close they monitor the parking lot. I suppose you could pretend to be a Safeway customer by going in for a short while. I do like free parking.

I think you're less likely to have trouble parking on the street. Worst is you get a ticket. Safeway could tow you though.

Yeah, but if it's an hour or so and not at night, they're unlikely to even notice. If you're just going there for a bite to eat you'll be fine.

True, and I've definitely parked there for a whole day without incident.
However...for the extra block or less for parking just down the road, it's probably worth it to not risk a tow.

Yeah it's more for those times when the street parking is un-findable which happens fairly frequently especially with construction.

True, but every now and then I love getting a double with bacon, pickles, black olives, banana peppers, flipp'n sauce, ketchup and mustard. With a side of deep fried pickles.
Sooooo good.

The Lava Dining burger made Flipp'n look like complete crap. And now it's gone.
PLEASE RE-OPEN SOMEWHERE.

Lava's was a 10 oz Wagyu burger cooked sous vide. Great bun too. Just perfect.
Vintage's burger is quite good, as is everything else there of course.
