Is this cap circumvention? Seems like an easy way to get around the 35+ rule.

Pretty sure Plekanec is just going overseas to play in the Czech Republic. He's "retiring" in name only, just from the NHL.

Just looking into it further, because it wasn't a multi-year 35+ deal it wouldn't have been subject to the same restrictions.

He seemed to be happy to get his 1000 games in before he went home, seeing as how he needed the 3 he played this year to make it.
