Derek Ryan was excellent tonight. Terrific effort, won every battle. Great stuff.

Lucic has been pretty solid. Makes me happy because he is one of the players that actually gives a damn.

Dube won't be going anywhere if he plays the way he did with Ryan and Lucic.

as for the game, blah.
That’s a fair reaction, but to also be fair he is probably playing better than any Flames player so.....

Just to make things even worse, the Oilers are currently leading the Sharks 3-1.

This is indeed the darkest timeline.

I think there were things to build on tonight despite being outplayed for the bulk of the game.

I still believe in this roster.

You can tell he really does. Glad he got an apple tonight.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Monahan - Gawdin
Lucic - Ryan - Dube
Jankowski - Backlund - Frolik

Wouldn’t be against sending Rinaldo down, calling Gawdin up, and trying something like that next game.

Dube has provided a spark on the third line, let’s see if Gawdin who played a tenacious and skilled style in pre-season can do the same to the second line. I didn’t mind Mangiapane and Monahan together at times tonight .

Derek Ryan = Valerie Bure.

Bill Peters = Greg Gilbert.

We’re the Young Guns again.

I thought Calgary played pretty well, but lost.

The fact they are in a losing streak made it look worse than it actually was.

3rd line was excellent, particularly Ryan & Lucic.

Thought Rinaldo made a real nice backcheck on MacKinnon tying up Mackinnon's stick to prevent a good scoring chance on one shift. Was impressed with that.

Compared to that disgusting spectacle in Vegas on the weekend, this game wasn't that bad. Some positives for sure. Plenty of negatives. The give a crap meter actually registered tonight. Just have to keep working at things.

Blessing in disguise, better to see this roster for what it really is instead of being given false hope and getting swept in the playoffs. The more we lose the faster we can get to the inevitable rebuild, this team is not going to win anything so it’s better to sell high while we still can. Silver lining!

Tkachuk-Monahan-Mangiapane
Gaudreau-Backlund-Lindholm
Lucic-Ryan-Dube
Rinaldo-Jankowski-Frolik

Here are your Calgary Flames going forward, just on GAF level and effectiveness. Go ahead and trade these bolded four to fill necessary holes.

Bennett and Czarnik get a pass.
