Why put a real bomb literally right next to your leader?

They could have waited until he was at a safe distance before detonating it remotely.

A very heavy handed episode, but interesting never the less. With three episodes left there is still time for some subversion, but right now the plot seems pretty straight forward.

Edit: I should probably make it clear that I enjoy the themes, it just that now the plot seems pretty straight forward, while one of the best parts of the show was trying to piece things together.

It was definitely very heavy handed, but that actually fits in with the tone of the Watchmen, which often uses heavy handedness to parody.

My biggest complaint with the storyline was that the actor they picked to play the young hooded justice wasn't big enough for the role. HJ is supposed to be big enough to be confused with a circus strongman.

What could have been a clumsy retcon, was instead a brilliant take on an ambiguous character. Really impressed they managed to surprise in what seemed like an obvious and yet improbable twist.

It was well documented in Watchmen that some of the Minutemen were as concerned with their commercial appeal as they were with being actual heroes. Again, excellent job expanding on that with a cynical view.

I’m also seeing that the guy who burnt down the Jewish deli was supposed to be Donald Trump’s father. The business was called F.T. & Sons.

Wow. Good catch. Didn't even notice that. In the Watchmen Universe, Hooded Justice prevents Trump's rise to power by killing his father before he can become uber-rich.

It was twitter, not me. I had to go back to verify and sure enough it was true.

Volumes 1 and 2 of this Watchmen score are so good that my ears need a break. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are gods among men.

7 of 9 episodes down, with no set plans to renew. So theoretically, we are getting a complete story arc. There's a fair bit to wrap up in the last two episodes.

My guess, is that people are going to start dying.

I'm loving this and for the life of me can't understand how people aren't watching this.

I still think the thing that crashes on the Clark Farm is Veidt.

Live that Looking Glass went all Rorschach on the 7th Kavilery.

Turning Sen. Keene (R) into the next Dr. Manhattan is an interesting twist. Even if successful, I would think that it would change him like it did Jon. Not good, not evil, just there.

I'm surprised that Laurie was caught off guard. I expected better of Silk Spectre.

Two episodes left.

I don't recall the last show where I was this invested in the YouTube analysis videos. I just can't get enough speculation.

I am wondering what is going on with Veidt and the trial. Is he doing this to himself as some kind of penance for killing? Why would his "slaves" turn on him?

Yeah, you'd have to imagine, that if Keene were ever to acquire a total understanding of and ability to control time and space, his political beliefs/goals would begin to seem less important.

This would be an interesting logical conclusion for far right-wing nihilists to chew on.

So I'm finally caught up and wow. This show has me. Can someone recommend a good YouTube analysis of the episodes. I know that there are certain things that I just don't understand and I'd love to take a deeper dive. I did purchase the hardcover book as well and I'm looking forward to catching up on the source/not source material.

Emergency Awesome is good.
Screen Crush has some great stuff.

Heavy Spoilers, Think Story, BuzzTox, IGN are good. Peter Peppers is alright.

Basically, I'm checking out everything I can haha.

This show is outstanding, can’t believe there’s been pushback against it. Looking Glass episode was the best

That FBI assistant is definitely lube man and saved Looking Glass, right?

I think Looking Glass saved himself.

But yes, I do also think Petey is Lube Man.
