Will the team set up a base in eastern US to practice all week then fly to London for home games or will they be based out of London? Would a London playoff game not be a massive advantage for the London team against a team from say the AFC West that would only travel to London once every 3/4 years? I get that it could lead to a huge boost in income and promotion of the game on a global stage but I don't think the logistics are ideal.
Mexico City might make more sense. El Cargadors de Ciudad de Mexico.

I seriously doubt players are gonna want to live in a city where they'll be required to have kidnap insurance. I imagine the Chargers will either end up back in San Diego, or maybe Oakland if they build a new stadium when the Raiders leave. But as mentioned that's at least 10 years from now with Kroenke having them locked in.

I don’t think theres any way Kaepernick ends up in the XFL. Trump and Vince McMahon are known friends/business partners etc.

Including when Kap signed the same one in 2011.

I unfortunately agree with Stephen A. Smith when he said that if Kap wanted to play football he would be playing football right now. But he doesn't. He wants to be a martyr.

Yes I did, I've also read many other articles about it.

There’s a good one on SI from a legal analyst about it.

Well then you must have missed this part because it addresses the whole "standard waiver" aspect.

Quote:
The NFL made some attempts to cover for those efforts, of course. In a release on Saturday expressing disappointment at Kaepernick pulling out of the league’s workout, the NFL acknowledged the waiver being a point of contention. There was a key phrase contained in the release. Here’s what the NFL said:

“On Wednesday, we sent Colin’s representatives a standard liability waiver based on the waiver used by National Invitational Camp at all NFL Combines and by NFL clubs when trying out free agent players. At noon today, Colin’s representatives sent a completely rewritten and insufficient waiver.”

Note the phrase “based on the waiver used by National Invitational Camp at all NFL Combines”. Two words – “based on” – are very interesting.
I think Kaep just doesn't trust the NFL, and he has every right not to.

Yeah but think of the heel/distraction factor to drive ratings. Kaep can score a TD and then burn the American flag, and then Trump can spend the following week going as close to the line as possible without calling him the N-word. Ratings gold really.

Even without Trump it wouldn't likely happen as when the AAF called him up he told them he wanted $20 million. The XFL pay scale is in the same ballpark as the CFL.

The whole timing of the workout was very curious.

I tend to think that Kaepernick likely will survive quite well without another NFL paycheque. So if any player is going to challenge the NFL, on some of it's policies that are not player friendly, than he is one who could.

That said...I don't think this is a guy who really is all that desperate to get back into Football to play the game because he misses playing it that much. Otherwise, he likely would compromise more, and for lack of a better term give in.

So I don't think he's being blackballed out of the league entirely as his camp will attempt to sell it. It's more a case of him being willing to challenge some of the league's terms which heavily favor the league and the owners.

Likewise, the owners are likely trying to trap him into doing something that can absolve them of any potential future liability..and are doing so in a very underhanded way.

Either way, he'll be around for awhile, but he's never playing in the league again.

NFL has reduced Maurkice Pounceys suspension to 2 games. Myles Garretts suspension upheld.

by the way, Garrett accused Rudolph of a racial slur during the appeal hearing today, much to the susprise of everybody involved (including teammates like Sheldon Richardson, who's defended Garrett all week). Not saying it didn't happen because you never know, but the timing is fishy. I'd imagine that stuff would have come out much earlier than conveniently being part of the appeal all of a sudden.

Yikes, that is bad, whichever version is true.

How's it a precedent? Ray Rice got 2 games for punching his wife in the face.

Huh?

He was initially given 2 games until a 2nd video of the incident showed up...then it was indefinite and he was released by the Ravens. The league had proof for why they changed things.

Here, we have video evidence right off the hop...and its 2 games after appeal.

Really not sure what it is you are arguing.

Considering it was an emotional response to a fairly egregious assault on his quarterback, 2 games feels about right.

Good article on the two LA teams, why no one will ever care, and what a mess this marriage between the Chargers and Rams is.

Garrett said he didn't think things he said in the hearing would get released in public. So could be a case for him saying whatever he thought could get him out of a suspension, even if it was BS, and no one would know to be able to call him on it.

Refs, players involved nearby have said they didn't hear anything and there is no micd up players nearby for TV that game. Who knows, could've been Pouncey between kicks.
