Like this signing. I think he will be good for us. Also good to hear he left better offers on the table and wanted to come here!

I like this a lot. Two years removed from having an almost Vezina worthy season. On the Oilers. What can he be with this defence?

I would have much preferred Lehner (even at a huge cap hit)

But I guess this was the next best option.

Good stuff. Happy to have him. I think he'll give us some very good games this year, and he'll be a good insurance policy for Rittich falling apart.

With Ghostbusters filming in Calgary it's only fitting Mr Ghostbusters Mask signs here

This works.

Even if it means Flames fans are now using a knife to protect their junk.

I like it. Should be a good set up for Talbot and BSD to battle for #1

Very good contract for a cap strapped team.

Excited to see how Talbot fits in. Good chance of a bounce back, and it is a decent tandem with Rittich.

He was a guy at the deadline who I wouldn't have minded being a replacement for Smith. I think he's better than what he showed with the Oilers and that his confidence was shot.

Happy with this. I am a believer in Rittich but it is nice to have a solid backup with the ability to steal the job.

All he has to be is average, and this will look like a great signing.

One year deals carry little risk. Hopefully Talbot plays like a guy who earns himself 6 million for next year.

I like it. The best part is seeing Smith sign up in Edmonton. Glorious developments!

I sincerely hope this becomes a CP meme.

But it would have to happen now to make sense.

Good term, but I am disappointed at the cap hit. I guess that's the cost of only signing a goalie for only one year. I haven't seen too much of Talbot last year, but statistically speaking he was one of the absolute worst goalies last year. If we take into account that there are more goalies than goalie positions right now, it seems like the Flames could've gotten better value.

I hope Talbot has a great year, but it seems like a lot of money for someone with so much to prove.
