My goodness, what a great hold by Leylah from love-40 down in that game.

Linette gets one of those breaks back.
Edit: And Leylah snatches it right back with a break of her own. Serving for the match at 5-2

That was fun to watch! She let a couple of match points fall to the wayside but clawed back and didn't play it safe.

That's what impresses me the most, she stays in the fight and never gives up on a point. A very good tactical change in set 2 to use the drop shot which really rattled Linette. Leylah cleaned up the unforced errors and played some great defense which forced Linette to overhit and make more mistakes. A very mature performance from the 18 year old.

The match against Thiem really exposed the current flaws in Felix's game.

Since Rotterdam, where he beat Dimitrov and PCB on his way to the finals, Felix has suffered a severe regression in play. The serve is beyond abysmal and his tactics are simply not fit to beat anyone inside the top 30. I don't see any sign of it turning around unless he commits fully to trying to play a match instead of simply going out there to crush winners against players that are just as good or far better than him.
It did take Shapo the better part of two years to figure it out, so here's hoping Felix will follow the same trajectory. Right now there isn't much to like about where he's going.

How is it that he has not yet won a single match at Roland Garros?

The most likely reason could be that he's not able to move on the clay the same way he can on hard court. Even a subtle loss in movement is likely killing his ability to stay in points.

Good call not getting up as Pospisil loses in 3 sets which brings his record at the French Open to 0-7. Safe to say hes not a fan of clay

Brutal draw for Vasek, Berrettini is at the top of guys who could win this tourney after the top 3 of Rafa, Novak, and Thiem.

With no crowd, you can hear the f-bombs from Sam Querrey lol (he was up 5-1 in the second set against Rublev, now it's 5-5)
Edit: Crazy set of tennis, Rublev actually had a couple of set points, but Querrey forced a tie-breaker and won it to be up two sets to love on Rublev.

Those last couple of points illustrate perfectly the changes in Shapo's game - He now has the willingness to stay in rallies and change pace (commitment to playing defense) and then he throws in a drop shot winner after tiring out Simon. Fantastic tennis from Denis.
