Tied for most allowed stolen bases in baseball. An indictment on Martin. If Martin can’t hit and he can’t play D, why not try another catcher?

Is there anyone else in the system that could replace him and do better?

Danny Jansen is currently putting together his 2nd straight strong season in the minors. AAA and AA

I doubt he's ready to take over full time though. He'll probably get a look at some point this season, and then be here full time next year platooning with Martin who will be on the last year of his deal.

Martin and Morales really aren't contributing anything this year, and what makes it worse is when Smoak needed time off they put Morales there, and when Donaldson needs a day off from playing 3rd they put Martin there.

It's beyond frustrating.

Clippard and Axford are guys you are hoping to be able to flip for something later on like the Jays did with Joe Smith last year, so them blowing up is really, really ####ing awesome lol

At least we are getting looks at guys like Hernandez, Grichuk, Alford, Smith Jr, Pompey, Diaz, Urshela, Gurriel, Urena, etc.

Throw a bunch of mud at the wall and see what sticks. Need to find some solid supporting cast members for when Vlad and Bo finally arrive.

Hopefully we also get some looks at Jansen, Biggio, Tellez this year along with Vlad and Bo.

Blow this up and start gaining a treasure chest full of picks and prospects. This was always bound to happen but I think the front office thought they could stretch this teams “window” for another season or two. It has been pretty obvious that this team needs to go full rebuild. Luckily they already have a few great peices in Vlad and Bo to start with and they still have players they can trade for futures.

Those 2 seasons of playoff baseball was fun but unfourtunately those teams were comprised of older players and their window was only for 2 years. Time to build a proper core that can be built around for 10 years or more.

The “Biagini as starter” thing feels a lot like the Brouwerplay - it just doesn’t work but the manager/coach seems hellbent on forcing it anyways.

Wow, Tabler in the 2nd inning was even talking about how Biagini hits a wall in the fifth inning because he loses his release point, and lo and behold a fifth inning meltdown.
