Which is why I'm not buying it day 1. Zelda looks amazing, but I'll be playing it on my Wii U

The Switch looks great and I'll eventually buy one, but I think it's too expensive for what's going to be available day 1

Neon up at Best Buy. And apparently the Master Edition of Zelda is exclusive to EB in Canada. So if you didn't get in on it . . .

I think Nintendo could make way more money becoming the premier Andoid / Apple developer.

They really peaked at golden eye / smash brothers. N64 was probably their best platform. The phone market is lacking in quality games. You could just start with ports of the N64 games and then drop new content. Work with apple and iPad and make a lightning / USB controller and have it cast via Apple TV and chrome cast.

It would be awesome and there would be no console you'd have to buy.

Very curious how the cartridge bit alleviates the need for more storage.

I had an opportunity to preorder this but chose not to. The red and blue is just so garishly ugly in portable mode

They make money in their console/handheld business (...well, the Wii U was a calamity, but outside of that), and they're just spinning up their mobile business...so why can't they do both?

The 3DS has sold something insane like 62 million units worldwide, they do better good in the hardware business.

"Just become an Apple/Android dev" is consistently one of the worst arguments people make with respect to Nintendo. Mobile games, by and large, are garbage because of the platform, not the devs.

Pokemon Go and Super Mario Run only enjoyed popularity because of the reputation both franchises built on console/handheld. Take that away, and Nintendo do becomes just another Zynga - rehashing simple games because the platform doesn't support anything better and the customer expects it practically for free.

32gb on board, micro-SD expandable that supports at least up to 256gb cards.

That's funny, I switched my Grey preorder for the Neon. The grey looks good but is a bit too generic for me.

The neons bring me back to the crazy, but awesome color choices of the old gameboys and n64/gamecube.

For those who missed the announcement yesterday, like me, I found a bookmarked version that looks to have the highlights.

I'm not worried about a lack of launch games -- I've always found it funny people complain about stuff like that. We're getting a huge new Zelda game on launch day -- do you really need to pick up 3-4 other games that you won't play at the same time? I know I don't have the time to play that many, I'm still catching up on games from last year!

It's understandable if you're not a Zelda fan though. Fewer launch games means fewer chance to immediately appeal to a potential customer. Personally, I'm just a little sad that Dragon Quest Heroes II is a launch day release in Japan but probably not here given the PS4 NA release is scheduled for the end of April.

Wtf Best Buy cancelled one of my orders due to an unspecified "security issue". But left the other alone. Exact same account, within seconds of each other.

Reading RFD, it seems like BestBuy has been cancelling orders if you ordered more than one.

If they had a limit of 1 that makes sense, the email could have said that though rather than a vague security threat.

This. I've played the occasional Zelda game, but I've never played one to completion If I bought this (and based on confirmed release dates) I would have to play Zelda from March 3 to April 28th when Mario Kart comes out. So maybe I could finish one

For Nintendo gamers, I'm sure there is a lot more excitement. I may have to start traveling for work, so I was on the hype train. But if you have no brand allegiance, its a lot harder sell. There is not a lot of Switch exclusive games to convince the average gamer to buy it in the first 6 months.

I don't see dedicated portable gaming devices lasting beyond the next 5 years. They are like compact cameras. Phones are good enough.

There mobile business so far is disappointing that they are releasing mobile type
Games like Mario run instead of high quality console like games.

I also thought (could be wrong) that the consoles/held held device themselves barely break even over the life span. And it's the profit from
The games that drives profits.
