Hopefully Wolves can cheat FFP enough to truly make this a top seven in the PL. Great team to watch, just needs a bit more quality and depth and they'll be fighting for European football without a doubt. Nuno has done a phenomenal job.

Lol oh Liverpool. Still time to pull this from the fire but obviously anything but a win here is devastating.

Also of course Van Dijk makes a terrible error to possibly end their hopes of the league. Wouldn't be Liverpool if it were any other way.

Edit: Of course that's why Fulham are getting relegated, embarrassing from Rico.

Wow. Poor Millwall. They were up 2-0, Brighton scores in the 89th minute, and the. Last kick of the game March scores for Brighton with a terrible free kick that was heading wide. The keeper got his hands to it and knocked it in. Now headed for extra time...

Disaster averted for Liverpool, but they probably have to win out to win the league and based off today there's no way that's happening. Mane is keeping them alive at this point.

There are still a lot of games left, it's unlikely either team wins out.

Dont worry, I'm sure you'll get another chance to enlighten us with your wisdom next week.

Right but if you want to pass them you probably do need to win out. I only see them maybe dropping points at United, but that looks far less likely now than it did a couple weeks ago. So for Liverpool dropping points once means they can't catch City unless they drop points twice, and that doesn't seem likely.

At least you got a bye to the semis in the CL. Still a chance for something.

Look...I get that you're new to this. 'Sports' is a crazy thing.

"Oh NOES they didnt keep a death-grip on first place when they had it so they're going to lose and the world will end!!!!!!!!!!"

No.

Man City were basically runaway favourites from Day 1. That Liverpool arent only within touching distance but actually competing is great.

And I'll admit, I'm a cynic. I've been a Flames fan my whole life its a card they give you.

You though? You strike me as someone who has never actually picked a side. So I dont know why you watch.

In this sport there's basically no point to picking a side unless you were born into a family of supporters. Otherwise the only thing to decide is which rich club do you wanna support? Because there are only a handful of teams in Europe (like 12 basically) that can win anything meaningful due to the structure. The game is rigged, and yet everyone whines about PSG and Man City ruining everything with money when that's literally the only way to win. Developing talent? Meh.

I look at Southampton as the perfect example. In a North American sports model, they'd probably be the best team in England. No one has been better at developing talent in the last 15 years. And yet they are fighting relegation because they have sell everyone. So if you're a supporter of Southampton the last 15 years you've got to see elite talent and....the knowledge you'll never win anything and will be fighting relegation every now and then. Kinda sucks doesn't it?

So why do I watch? Because I enjoy the sport, and this is the highest level. And since fans are about, well, winning, you're limited to a very small niche of clubs. It's a terrible structure that kills competitiveness. Maybe if things were fairer I could choose someone and not feel like a glory hunter.

Brighton advances to the FA Cup semis on penalties. As a result, Spurs open their new stadium April 3rd against Crystal Palace.

Chelsea absolutely ####ing pathetic. Dominate the first half against Everton and can't capitalize and then instantly concede to start the second half.

The only time the story changes week to week is when they get absolutely thumped.

Well that was a nice like two week reprieve from the sacking calls for Sarri. Thankfully for him he still has Europa to get into CL.

3 Tottenham - 30 games, +25, 61 points
4 Arsenal - 30 games, +24, 60 points
5 Man Utd - 30 games, +18, 58 points
6 Chelsea - 30 games, +17, 57 points

Tottenham: at Liverpool, vs Palace, vs Brighton, vs Huddersfield, at Man City, vs West Ham, at Bournemouth, vs Everton
Arsenal: at Wolves, vs Newcastle, at Everton, at Watford, vs Palace, at Leicester, vs Brighton, at Burnley
Man Utd: vs Watford, vs Man City, at Wolves, vs West Ham, at Everton, vs Chelsea, at Huddersfield, vs Cardiff
Chelsea: vs Brighton, at Cardiff, vs West Ham, at Liverpool, vs Burnley, at Man United, vs Watford, at Leicester

going to be an exciting finish. All of them are still in Europe and out of the FA Cup, so that's not going to be a factor. On paper, Arsenal have the easiest road ahead because they've already played all the games against top 6 teams. Still 2 of those meetings left each for the others. Wouldn't be surprised if the EL route became a real option for Chelsea at some point (or Arsenal, if they beat Napoli).

Oh. So...sports are disappointing and since you want to not be disappointed you're going to engage in sports fandom as a dispassionate neutral observer.

Makes total sense.

Have you considered taking up knitting? Macrame perhaps? Or are you just allergic to fun?

Not disappointing, at European top football it's literally pointless to cheer for anything but the top clubs. So I should latch on to a successful club just to have any chance? At the very least in North American sports there's a chance. Being a Bucs fan has primarily been a major letdown, but hey, the Bucs have more league championships than Liverpool does in the last 29 years. The PL is a Blackburn and Leicester win away from having a whopping four different winners in the last 26 years.

It just means that you dont have the character to have any conviction.

And thats notwithstanding your obvious lack of knowledge and experience in regards to the Premier League in general, but man....all you do is rag on actual fans of clubs and teams and hide behind not having a club or team.

Vlad cheers for Wolves FFS! Have some fun! They're not going to win it all but they're doing awesome!

Your team may never win. Or they may be Leicester but you can at least enjoy the ride.

You dont want to be a glory whore and thats commendable, but you dont want to be constantly disappointed which is understandable, but otherwise you're really just cheering for the laundry.

Find something that means something to you.

Probably about 10 years ago I basically stopped fandom, because I realized that sports, first and foremost, is entertainment. No different than TV, or movies or music. It's a thing to kill time between our crap jobs and crappier kids. I think yeah, you could stick with a team out of some misguided sense of loyalty (ignoring the team would abandon you as a fan for a few bucks more), or you could enjoy the sports as a entertainment and watch the most entertaining and best of the best.

Like when Metallica went to ####, should I keep buying every album just because I was a huge fan at some point? Nah, I wanna support quality stuff, not crap. Endorsing crap sends a bad message (like supporting any Mourinho team for instance). And especially with soccer where it's pure capitalism, unlike the socialist North American sports.

Does that mean I lack conviction? Maybe, but I'm not wasting my time being bored by a lesser product ever. Means I always get to enjoy the good stuff (ironically, I consider Liverpool to be top shelf, minus the Klopp whining).

Funnily enough I find his posts more insightful than yours.

And psychologists love posts like yours. Try and put someone down in order to make yourself look good.

Translates as.....Look at me! Look at me! I have lots of knowledge and experience in regards to the Premier League. Whoopee doo!

Senator just Keeganed you.
