I heard it too, but can't confirm. I'm glued to any relevant Twitter sources and news outlets so I'll post if anyone says anything, and I'll be down there later today anyway.

The message I got from a friend was something like "they're moving barriers as if they were going to open it, but I've seen them moving those same barriers before so I can't confirm", this somewhere around Glenmore/Stoney.

Really? I had no idea you could get to Silverado by 210 ave.
My friend is at 114 ave and Stoney and he says it's open south bound. I have no reason not to believe him.

Big day for transportation in the city, this the largest trans project in the province's history when it started. Too bad it's so anti-climactic cause they're so late.

Reading this thread has cemented my desire to never live in the SE part of town. The commute times and delays you guys are mentioning would literally give me an aneurism.

Honestly before all this construction it wasn't that bad IMO. It's the past few months that have been difficult to deal with. It's worth it though in the long run.

The next question is are these guys ready for the pending weather and the plowing/sanding that will be required?

YNAT- You can take the Okotoks exit to turn around. That extra distance is the tipping point to where I take Dunbow when I go to Spruce It Up.

I think I live too far south, and then I hear about people taking detours to 210ave and Okotoks!

To be fair, last weekend I saw that going from WB 22X onto NB Stoney (at 88 street)- the "baracades" seemed to be placed in a way that would allow traffic through. I was tempted to head up that way just to check it out. Maybe your friend failed to noticed the "ROAD CLOSED" signs as he went between the pylons.

This is true, this has happened a couple times. I believe YNAT had mentioned being able to go NB from 88 St up to 114 Ave. Some time in September I remember there being no barricades to go south from Glenmore. I considered heading down there for giggles and jumping off at 114 Ave, till I saw a pair of northbound gravel trucks hauling ass in the southbound lanes I was about to enter. No thanks.

The barrels are placed at Peigan Trail so that hauling trucks can get around the left side. They have regularly been going around there for a long time.
