There's been a growing number of posters here who have become more vocal about their willingness to see Gaudreau be traded away for the right deal for the sake of making the team tougher or better defensively, which to me is absolutely crazy.
These clips really show Johnny's elite skill level and how consistently he makes VERY hard plays look easy. There may only be less than 5 other players in the league with the vision, play making ability and ability to back teams off thereby creating space for his teammates that Johnny has.
Easily an untouchable for the Flames and we are extremely fortunate to have him.
EDIT: Meant to add, great job on the video as always AC!

life as a flames fan is good.
these videos get me so hyped up each off-season, and never let it be said the flames lack talent. this is a player that makes kane jealous, the good kane too.
Watching these two Gaudreau packages makes me wonder what the Ferland haters are watching when they call him a bottom six scrub benefitting from Gaudreau and Monahan.
Ferland has top 6 skill, what he is lacking right now is top line consistency. Hate him for lacking consistency but dont say he doesn't have the skill to play in the top line. Some of the plays and passes he makes are all star caliber.

Most NHL forwards have top 6 skill, true top 6 players give you 60 or so solid consistent games. it's seems like more than just consistency for Ferland, his brain and body literally sleep threw 40 games a season. so much so he hurts the line in those games.
These videos also emphasize the degree to which Gaudreau is really the only Flame who actually drives offence. Monahan, Ferland, Tkachuk are all excellent complementary players, but Johnny provides the vast majority of the offensive fuel.
If the Flames could pick up another player capable of actually driving offence on the second line, they would be in much better shape.
Alternatively, if Peters can use the defence more effectively to drive offence, that would go a long way to sorting out the Flames' struggles. If that's not his plan, then they should be looking to trade from the back end to land another skilled forward who can lead his own line.

Agreed, but when he's cold, he looks like a 4th liner. When he's hot he's a great 1st line power winger. If he could at least be decently productive when he's cold it would go a long way to helping this team and cementing his spot in the lineup.
Consistency has been Ferland's problem since the day he was drafted.

Backlund has traditionally been the driver of the play into the offensive zone for his line, but lacks the pure skill of a top 6 center. This is where I'm hoping Jankowski takes a step forward this year. The guy has the skill, he just has to learn how to play Backlund's possession game and he'll be a great 2nd line center.
Perhaps Bennett will figure out how to drive offense this year, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

He keeps getting better, though:
· In his first full season he four times went +5 games without registering a point, and his longest drought was 13 games.
· In 2016–17 Ferland had a 15-game drought, but then only two +5-game scoreless streaks.
· Last season Ferland had three +5-game scoreless streaks, two of which occurred late in the season when the entire team stopped scoring. His longest scoring drought was eight games, and he still finished with 20 goals and +40 points.

The problem you allude to is the fact that Ferland isn't a staple on the power play, where he would be "decently productive when he's cold".
Which is perfectly fine since Tkachuk is there. But speaks more to how much PP and 4v4 and 3v3 usage influences perception.
The reality however is that Ferland was more productive at 5v5 than a lot of top six players. He's streaky? Most players are.
Should we expect more out of him on PP2? Yes but that is true of everyone in PP2, which was the worst it's been since 2015 when PP2 essentially consisted of Kris Russell, David Jones, Mason Raymond, Raphael Diaz and Backlund. The team as a whole needs to figure out PP2 and Ferland's consistency will follow.
