You mean the salary that Alfredsson took a discount on to stay with the Sens and do Melnyk yet another favour?

Alfredsson signed a sweetheart deal for the Senators. $4,875,000 while playing at a PPG pace. He could have made a lot more on the open market if he wanted to.

I'd say "good luck getting any interviews now" ... but she's a blogger, so no one probably cares anyway.

What trash that woman is. Her tweets read like a deranged jilted ex or something.

I don’t care if he asked not to be quoted after and should have requested it first. She’s not even a real reporter, shocking that she doesn’t have a job with a reputable media company anymore.

"to find out what he doesn't want me to write, check out my blog later this evening"

Classy "reporter".

"in these days of social media"

Prophetic. She'll soon get a good dose of what social media is like these days.

I think for any self-proclaimed bloggers in the world, they should be licensed or governed somehow. I don't care if you have worked in a legit news station for 300 years. Once you are off, integrity is challenged.

Integrity is - do it right without being monitored. Some people don't even know what is right or wrong anymore.

She could have used 'according to my source, who wants to remain anonymous...' I think that is good enough.

Funny thing is, she did not create a wow moment because pretty much every educated hockey fans want EM not to be their owner. #PickedTheWrongBattle

It's a pretty sad day when you're average fan with access has better ethics than a blogger with any form of a following.

All that for what? To report that even Alfie agrees with everyone?

She's talking on 1310 News right now with that Rick Gibbons guy who's coaching her through this...

Edit: He (with her on the phone) just had the nerve to say that Alphie is thinking 'oops' and embarrassed that he let slip what the mayor thinks.

These two are gross.

There are still copyright considerations I think. Besides, one click really doesn't amount to much... pennies per thousand clicks or something like that now.

I don’t think we should forget our situation.

Murray Edwards isn’t exactly doing anything awe inspiring. We need a building and have a Gio cap.
Edwards skipped the country to avoid losing more money all while looking like a shady bugger.

We used to have the best owners in the league. Owners like Harley Hotchkiss and Bud McCaig and Doc Seamon that Gary Bettman actually respected.

I’m not saying I know Gary doesn’t respect Murray but I cannot imagine he’s entirely happy either.

Just my opinion of the whole scenario that is just exasperation on my part watching the mudslinging.
It’s crappy watching what’s happened with the flames the past few years and wanting changes that will last. Makes me wonder if this is part of why Burke is no longer here. I wonder what things he’s seen while here that make Calgary less desirable.

I think that's a pretty unfair conclusion to draw from that sentiment...

There does need to be some way to ensure that things are being reported on accurately and ethically. I think if that ever steps in the way of freedom of speech, for bloggers or publications, we should all be concerned.

Calling for bloggers to be licensed by the government? That is absolutely an infringement of free speech, and a very large one.

I write professionally, and no, I'm not going to tell you under what name, because I don't want to get CP mixed up with my work. My #1 tool for keeping in contact with my readers, selling new work, and getting feedback on my published stuff, is my blog. If any bureaucrat in Ottawa ever gets the power to tell me what I can and cannot write, under threat of revoking my licence, I will emigrate from this country so fast it will make your head spin, and never come back. And I can assure you I am far from alone in this.

There never has been before. There's a good reason why Gell-Mann amnesia effect is a recognized thing.

Lol. Where on earth did I say I was against freedom of speech? I disagree with your expression but I don't object you posting it.
