I also didn't wear a visor, until the day I got a stick in the eye

Only after fights, understandably so.
Unless you wear a Heatly visor, getting a stick in the eye can easily happen with or without a visor.

No, not as easily. It can happen, but only in certain ways, not in every way.

It definitely helps, but the majority of the time the stick or puck are travelling upwards, so (as a taller person) I don’t believe they are as effective as commonly thought.

Your healthcare system... like I don’t contribute to it the same as everyone else. And would have to for the foreseeable future (intended).
Who in their right mind allows people to play hockey without a waiver?

Biggest thing I agree with:
NHL needs to change its image. Focus on displaying skill instead of 'grit'. It boggles my mind when fans boisterously cheer scrums with guys pushing and shoving each other. They've been conditioned to associate that with hockey and entertainment, when it should be about goal scoring, skating, and tactics. It starts with the league marketing team wanting to change.
Look at the NFL. There was a time when crowds would roar for a violent head-on-head hit. Times have changed. NHL needs to get with the times.

This was brought up as a constant criticism of his position, but that was addressed by him in the OP. Check the Q and A session. Basically he says that he was taught from a very young age to play that way without any knowledge of concussions.

I have watched football for 35 years and can't remember ever a cheer for a violent head on head hit, yeah there's ooh and aah's but generally the crowds are concerned.
Contact sports like football and hockey would have never became popular without a little violence mixed in but most fans don't want injurys

I played Football and Hockey at a high level. Football is no where close to Hockey in physicality.

except that he became an adult and continued to play a game that caused concussions and didnt change his way of playing or take responsibilty of how he played.

His experiences tell me that he honestly wasn't aware of the risks of playing that way and that his style of play was encouraged by NHL teams over the years. He calls it a cultural problem, and I have to agree. Even if he didn't take responsibility then, he's taking responsibility now. He's working harder than most to get the word out, help guys stay protected, and become self-advocates. He doesn't even want his own son playing hockey because he's afraid of head injuries. I really don't know what you expect him to do. Now that he knows about these problems he's on the right side of the issue. That's all you can really ask of anyone.
