His name was a hit at the time.

Yes exactly. Over rated. I think you have to have an actual hit (successful NHL season) to be considered a one hit wonder.

At least that's what I thought we were doing here.

Fun answer. I suppose there isn’t enough negativity in other threads

Not trying to be negative. Just an unfunny joke.

My favourite one hit wonder for the Flames is Nieminen. Just a magical three month run (with Nilson and Donovan too of course.)

Nigel Dawes is another. But he wasn't even a one hit wonder. More like a half-a-hit-wonder.
1/10 of a season Sven Baertschi.
Oliwa in 2003/04 for impacts other then scoring goals.

William Karlsson. Maybe. Actually probably not. I don't know what happened but he's here to stay.

I never noticed how strange Rob Brown's hockey career was...

Elite scorer with the Kamloops Blazers with 212 points in 63 games at age 18 - then into the NHL with Pittsburgh at age 19 where he scores 24 goals.

In his second season in the NHL at age 20? 49 goals and 115 points!

Traded to Hartford at age 22, then Chicago, and becomes a IHL/NHL tweener when he was 24.

At age 25, scores 155 points in 79 games for the Kalamazoo Wings in the IHL!

After 3 straight seasons essentially in the IHL - is his NHL career over? ... nope! He somehow makes it back into the NHL at age 29 for 3 more seasons with Pittsburgh averaging 29 points.

Finished off with 3 more productive seasons in IHL/AHL before calling it quits at age 35.

Joe Colbourne?

Priakin arrived before Makarov, and it's tough to say he was overrated when nobody expected anything from him. The only reason he got to be a name was that he was the first player allowed to go to the NHL by the Soviet authorities. The Soviets weren't going to let the KLM line go without testing the waters first.

It's crazy to me that Matt Stajan once scored 55 points.

Panthers: 1 finals appearance in 25 years, never won a round otherwise.
