With Gulutzan working for the Oilers we can go back to "Guaranteed Win Night."

They're going to be disappointed to find out that Gulutzan was the weakness.

Can't wait to see McDavid instructed to bring the puck in the offensive zone, slow down and circle back to wait for all 10 players to be in the same zone as he did with Gaudreau, since you have to move as a 5 man team.

McDavid's speed neutered to play the 5 man system to get better corsi stats would be so so sweet to see.

Especially when McLellan gets fired 30 games into the season and Gulutzan takes over

Unfortunately Trent Yawney appears to be competent.

The Oilers will take care of that though.

I dislike GG to the Oilers so quickly, but it's good to know he's not taking the ability to build a culture of winning with him. Maybe he can result in making the Oilers both fail and terribly boring for their fans to watch.

Quick question, didn't they hire Coffey earlier? What's his status now?

As much as I didn't like him in the head coach role, Gulutzan seems like he'd be a perfect assistant coach. Probably a good pickup for the Oilers.

With the way the Flames played, are we sure he wasn't an undercover oiler.

This is general employment and contract law.
If someone has a fixed term contract, and you terminate them, you pay out the remainder of the contract, unless and until they mitigate their losses by finding a new job.
If they earn the same or more than at the prior job, prior employer is off the hook.
If they earn less, prior employer tops up for the remainder of the fixed term contract.
The only caveat to this is that the current employer must give permission to the employee to work for a competitor. This is almost always given in sports.
The permission can be given with the agreement that if they get a new job, no matter how much they make, former employer is off the hook.

Couldn’t be happier to see Glue Gun behind the Oilers bench. Too bad the Oilers didn’t hire Dave Cameron as well. Oh well, one out of two isn’t bad!
