certainly not the hire I wanted, but I really liked the presser today. Confident guy. I'll give him a chance obviously.

Wait and see.
Like what I heard but that means squat. Need to see him and the team deliver results.

Excited for the start of the season and just as much for the coming changes this off season. Wasn't my first choice but I wasn't opposed and today was a great first impression. Hit all the right notes for me.

voted hate it, but that's too strong an option and "a little nervous" doesn't cover it.
If there was something between those, I likely would have selected that.
I'm not swayed a lot by press conference question and answer. I'll be comforted when we see results.

I am 100% giving him benefit of the doubt and hoping for the best. It was pretty clear this team needed a change.
I wanted Darryl but what can you do. I am on board.

Wasn't my first choice but can understand the rationale Treliving had in making this decision. In the end I think a big part for me now is the quality of the assistants we bring in.
Peters has a good PK historically, and I think his 5v5 systems are fine, but I want a proven NHL assistant that has coached top 10 powerplays in the past to be added to this coaching staff. (Joe Mullen comes to mind)

I feel better about it than I did before the presser, but still skeptical based on how the Flames have hired coaches in the past.
Here's hoping he's an anomaly.

I've accepted it. He said all the right things today, and he definitely has more charisma and personality than Gulutzan. I'm now fully on board and I'm looking forward to seeing if he can help right the ship.
We still need to get some scoring help and dump some of the dead weight on the bottom 6. Hopefully Treliving can make the necessary moves this summer to improve those areas and give Peters the best possible roster going into training camp.

I've really warmed up to it. Peters seems decisive, smart, prepared, flexible, honest and demanding. I wanted Sutter but frankly Peters really reminds me in some ways of Sutter and Babcock. In terms of persona and personality he seems like a lot more of a motivator and a leader than GG. I think that is going to make a difference.

This morning: Hated it
After listening to BP: Loved it
Trying to not be so bi-polar ... so I went with Cautiously Optimistic in the end.

Voted love it but it has more to do with today's events. I suppose I'm in between cautiously optimistic and loving it. Call it Optimistic

I'm kind of between cautiously optimistic and wait and see, but figured wait and see. I do think it's definitely a positive that we're no longer going to be seeing the "being patient with square pegs in round holes" approach from under Gulutzan - in the Fan 960 interview, not only does he make mention of Brodie on the right being better 2 years ago, his specific words were (when asked specifically about the powerplay):
"Those are the ones that kill you, right? Where you have a 'nickname' (role) for a guy and then at the end of the year he goes, 'Oh yea, you know what, I didn't really like that nickname' ".
I think this is specifically hinting at Brodie being forced on the left, as this is the one experiment that Gulutzan refused to relinquish and admit as a failure, and we saw our team defence and GA suffer for it. But the theme has occurred so many times last year - putting him instead of Dougie on the PP point, sending in Brouwer to take an important faceoff etc.
So this is very reassuring that he is immediately acknowledging this to stamp it out.

Voted that it doesn't matter. They fired a smart coach and hired another smart coach. It's a lateral move and a nice interview with some well dressed words doesn't change the fact that this roster is still the biggest problem with the team. Find some skilled right handed forwards, add speed and hopefully that alters the continuous mediocrity we've faced for the last 20+ years.

Voted ‘hate it’.
Actions speak louder than words, and I wanted a coach that has shown he can win, not a coach who can talk about what it takes to win (despite his record suggesting otherwise).
These press conferences are all the same. Hell, Gulutzan talked about speed and a fast transition when he was hired, and we all know how that turned out.
Less talking about what you will do... just go out and do it.

He's not the guy I would have hired or atleast this soon but he did say alot of things in the presser that went against things I hated about Gulutzan. But talk is cheap so hopefully he delivers.

A lot more positive/wait and see than I thought it would be based on conversations over the last few days. Appears he won some people over?
