Would love to have Wotherspoon as our 7th dman. Guy is steady and would save us some cash. No need to sign a journeyman when its obvious he was one of the best overall dmen in the A last season.

Seems far from obvious actually. I haven’t seen anybody else suggest that about Wotherspoon. And we’ve got quotes from people inside the organization who believe that of Andersson, not Wotherspoon.

It seems doubtful that the Flames will forego signing any PTOs for 2018 training camp. 23 teams had players on PTO deals in their training camps in 2017; Anaheim, Boston, Carolina Nashville, Philadelphia, SJ, TB, Toronto invited none. Especially because of the overseas exhibition games this seems like a virtual certainty for Calgary: last season Vancouver had Scotty Upshall and Ryan White on PTOs, while LA invited 11(!) players.

I don't see how this is especially telling of anything.
